Mother nature has served up a Christmas snow feast here where I live. Personally a brown Christmas would have been fine with me. But people who want a white Christmas should be rejoicing right about now.

I'm feeling the holiday blues. It just hit me today. I took a nap and now I don't know what to do with myself. I'm all alone. I know many are. I don't know anyone in chat. I'm not even sure I know how to get to chat. My main thing right now is that my family won't take the time to talk to me. Not even on a holiday. They all have somebody. I have no one.

Dear @Deilla, we are family here for each other. And the way I go to chat here is, I click on "site navigation", then "community", then "chatrooms". It took me a while to figure out how to navigate. But you're smart. You'll figure it out, & other chatters help you. Maybe it'll be fun for you. Hugs & love to you!!

There seems to be an after holiday downer feeling in the air. It's probably for lots of reasons, but I think it's kind of common this time of year anyway.

getting the feeling I've been in denial for a long time

I feel overwhelmed by housework and responsibilities. It's wearing me down. Maybe for tonight I can take a break and treat myself to something nice.

Maybe it's just the holidays. But there doesn't seem to be much here for me on "My Support Forums" at this point. The articles that used to be in Psych Central's archives mostly seem to be gone. So I can't offer new members links to those. Perhaps I'll reply to a few of the games in the Games forum from time-to-time. But I find myself spending little time here lately. Guess I'll see how things go once the holidays are over and done with.

Dear @Skeezyks, would it be possible for you to comb through the internet for a bunch of helpful sites that would be appropriate for most of the new members? Maybe you could make up your own list/storehouse for free links. It may take a while to build a good supply, but wouldn't it be worth a try?

I'm planning to fulfill a goal that is difficult for me emotionally. My intellectual self has it all worked out, how to view the situation, how to behave, etc. The emotions seem to need more convincing & are trying to hold me back. My heart feels bruised & I'm trying not to cry, because I know, intellectually, that I need to show the emotions we are fine.

@Breaking Dawn Thanks for the suggestion. This does sound interesting. And it would certainly be a challenge. I am aware of a few such websites. But, beyond that, I suspect this might be more of a challenge than I'm up for, at least at the moment.

I also don't know how the admin here would feel about me making a habit of providing new members with links to other websites. I've done a bit of this on occasion here-&-there. But I don't know about making a habit of it. I think I'll simply have to see how things go once the holidays are over and things begin to get back to normal (whatever that is.)

I made a character profile in my favorite game. I have several, actually. I play on a role-play server. Someone viewed my character's profile and sent me a nice message. We started talking and when he realized it was just a character, he disappeared. I clearly stated that I was OOC (Out of Character) and that I was a casual role-player. It just really disappointed me that he didn't even say, "I have to go now."

I don't know where they all went either, @Fuzzybear, but us who are left behind are still here, & we can help each other. And we can find places here where we do fit. I know you miss others. I do, too. Probably everybody here misses certain others. But what can we do? I guess we just do the best we can, & enjoy all the good things here & each other? I'm sending notes from my heart where songs of friendship are, & precious memories stay.
