I finished my analysis and assignment. It feels good to have that off my plate. I have a couple of errands today and some phone calls to make. I'm not sure I want to do much else. I have a status report meeting next week and nothing to show for it. I feel like I ought to be working on that project but I'm resisting it.

Feeling like I need to do a million things at once, as usual.

1. I received a notice that a service provider I'm not happy with is raising rates as of February. I need to give thirty day notice to cancel service. I have ten days to cut bait.
2. I have just over two weeks to prepare for a course I am unprepared for. I need to walk in with a completed project for critique and I am starting from ground zero.
3. I haven't been working on an old project I'm almost done with. I need to finish it so I can move on with my life.
4. Christmas prep

I am meeting up with family today and have one errand this afternoon. I will take the following specific actions on the above.

1. Take fifteen minutes to confirm the new provider has the same capabilities as the old provider. Remember that I can just pay an extra month and it's not the end of the world. Better to have a smooth transition.

2. Take fifteen minutes to review old projects to see if there's anything that might fit the bill.

3. Spend thirty minutes on the old project.
4. Find some envelopes and cards.

Looking for accountability partners (task check in) #2

When I’m overwhelmed and have a lot on my mind, I make a list and pause.

Yes. I take a pause.

•I watch a Marvel movie or something with supernatural elements instead of anything serious.

•I polish my nails.

•Eat a lot of veggies, fresh fruits and drink lots of water.

•I rest, get plenty of sleep.

•I do this self care for about 3 days.

I learned that being overwhelmed triggers my depression….hashimoto and so on.

Also taking a step back and focusing on self care will help make sure I H.A.L.T. first.

Afterwards, I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to be productive.

Thursday morning I felt like this and spent two hours typing up e-mails.

Then I washed my laundry and went to the library.

I practiced my Native Indigenous language and discussed plans for Kwanzaa.

I’ve been dealing with anxiety. I pause and the burning in my chest stops.

Last Week My Adult Daughter Called with a List of Foods She Wanted for Our Kwanzaa Dinner.

I Like to Cook for My Kids but I Definitely Didn’t Feel Up to Cooking a Feast or Time Consuming Foods…
But I was Going to Do It for Them.

Yesterday I was on My Way to the Grocery Store. She Called to Change Our Kwanzaa Menu. It’s A lot More Simplified. I Went Home to Rest.

I’m Going to Surprise Her Later and Cook All The Requested Foods.

Pain
My Pain Level Has Not Been Too Bad. I Purchased a Foot Massager and I Like It.

Rest
I Went to the Grocery Store, Walked My Dog and Took a Nap.

Tasks List
I Woke Up from My Nap, Ate and Folded My Laundry.

I read about a time management trick. I’m going to do it…

People often say they don’t have time to do “blah blah.”

Write down everything you do for a few days or a week. Log how long you do each thing.

•Work, Exercise, Cooking, Run errands, On social media, Hanging with family or friends
•Reading/studying.
Etc.

This shows how your time is used.

I finished my book and worked on document #3. I did not work on the migration project. I do not feel like doing anything today.

1. Exercise
2. 60 minutes sold work on document 3.
3. 60 minutes solid work on migration.

I would love to understand a bullet journal. Like broken down for a dummy. I have watched videos and dont get it yet.

How do I incorporate my Native Indigenous language?
•I use an UNDATED planner and bullet journals are a blank canvas. I enter dates written in my ancestral language (months, days of the week, seasons and celebratory occasions (Green Looking for accountability partners (task check in) #2 Corn ).

•I have multiple chronic illnesses and a teenager so my life requires a planner.

•I also prefer BuJo and UNDATED planners because it allows me to decolonize my personal created calendars. I don’t include colonial holidays which I don’t celebrate.

•I do include dates that are important to me: National MMIWGT2S Awareness, Farce of July, Custer’s Last Stand, Orange Shirt Day, Wounded Knee, Dakota 38 + Etc.

•There are no rules. BuJo and planners are a great way to use beautiful stickers and washi tape created by Native Indigenous creatives.

Bullet Journal (BuJo)
•But what exactly is a bullet journal? ... Instead of blank, lined pages, a bullet journal (or BuJo, for short) contains sections to log daily to-dos, keep a monthly or weekly calendar, jot down notes, track both physiological and mental health, and record both short- and long-term goals.

Planners
•Using a planner allows you to schedule each event, appointment, errand, and task, so that you know what to expect and don't run out of time. Set specific due dates and deadlines for everything to help you stay on track, and have extra time left for yourself and your family.

•Hobby Lobby had a 40% off sale and I purchased a few inserts: updated daily and weekly meal plan.

•I’m now aware of what layouts I like and don’t like.

•I prefer inserts to be undated, weekly and have time slots.

•It’s a pet peeve of mine to write an appointment/training for 1 pm and a few days later have another appointment on the same day at 8 am. I like my appointments and trainings etc to be listed in chronological order. Lol Looking for accountability partners (task check in) #2 Time slots is the solution for me.

•I placed an order late last night for undated weekly inserts with time slots. Cornell Notes and Task Delegation Inserts.

•I like the Cornell Notes inserts because I attend a lot of medical appointments. I also attend a lot of trainings and workshops. I like to take notes.

•I prefer my Task Delegation Inserts not be included in my weekly inserts. Certain tasks will have deadlines however others I work on throughout the week.

•I will save the inserts from Hobby Lobby as a back up in the event inserts are out of stock at Cloth and Paper.

•It’s important to me to primarily purchase from BIPOC businesses and this includes BuJo, planning and money management.

Today:

•I swept Looking for accountability partners (task check in) #2 my car out.
•swept Looking for accountability partners (task check in) #2 leaves off the porch.
•Found meals for my meal planner.

I spent most of yesterday watching a tv show and playing video games. Today has to be different. I did some work *related* to document 3 but did not actively work on document 3 that much. Also, I had meant to attend an online networking event but was dreading it and then completely forgot about it. Now I'm sorry I missed it.

Today I have one meeting and need to run some errands. I'm reluctant to even make a list today. I find that when I fail to work on a prioritized task one day, I want to avoid adding it to my list the next day.

I spent all of yesterday with my daughter. We had a great time. Today I am updating and scheduling appointments for the three of us (a complicated task with all those appointments. One time 8 in one week). I’m also working on my finances and still working on a credit due me from a travel company. I’ve already cleaned the kitchen and taken the trash out aside from having coffee and camaraderie with my daughter before she left. It’s beautiful and 73F outside. I’m going to put on my tennis shoes and head for the park.

I hope everyone has a peaceful day.

“How To Organize Your Life When You Feel Overwhelmed.”

•My Favorite Planners are Undated , Weekly or Hourly Layouts.

•I’m More of a Minimalist vs Being into Aesthetics.

•Planner Systems and Bullet Journals Help me Stay Organized.

•I Attend a lot of Medical Appointments, a Planner Helps Me Not Overbook and Remember All My Appointments.

•I List My Preventive Care and I List Bills Semi Annually and Annually.

•I List My Car Maintenance.

•I List My Dog’s Veterinary Care, Flea, Trick and Heart Worm Treatments.

•My Teenager has Activities and School Functions.

Yesterday was okay. I got some cooking and cleaning done, did my errands. I've set up a weekly check in for one project which will hopefully keep me on track.

Today I have a couple of optional meetings which I may or may not attend. I feel overwhelmed with things I want to do and am struggling to prioritize.

1. Baking project.
2. Doc #3
3. Project selection
4. Correspondence catch up
5. Migration project

6. Library
7. Homework

I forgot all about my meetings, whoops. I worked on two out of my seven items yesterday. Today I will try a shorter list.
1. Exercise.
2. Project selection - look for findings and start writing up.

3. Homework

I’m deeply depressed and feel hopeless today. I’m going to take a relaxing, hot shower and head out to run some errands. Hopefully I’ll rally. There are a number of things I’d like to get done today but that might not be realistic. I’ll start with a shower, dressing and running errands. Baby steps.

Best wishes to all for a grand 2022!

Happy New Year!

I started writing up something yesterday and feel better for it. I will do a little more of that today. I did not exercise or touch my homework. I have also not used my lists lately and will aim to do that today.

I used my lists in the morning but overall didn't do too much yesterday. Deadlines loom so I need to be more active today.
1. Do an exercise video.
2. Homework
3. Work on #3
4. Continue write up

Today my whole family gathered for a meal so I spent my morning getting ready for that. It went spectacularly well. I’m resting and then I’ll do the dishes, finances and straighten the house. Tomorrow I have lots of errands to run and therapy. I’ll detail that tomorrow in a list.

I only completed two of my list items yesterday, but the day felt productive. I got out of bed extremely early this morning to work on something but still haven't started it.

1. Continue work on new project. Tomorrow morning I need to decide if I should continue with it or try something else. The clock is ticking. I need to have something usable by next Monday.

2. Use my lists when I need a break.
3. Exercise

“How To DIY Your Own Mastermind

I Came Across A Podcast Episode that Really Resonated with Me.

My Takeaways
It’s Counterproductive Seeking Opinions and Feedback from Individuals or Groups that Do Not Work in the Same line of Work, have the Exact Same Illnesses You Have or other Struggles.

•It Does Make a Difference Obtaining Feedback from Individuals Who Can Relate and Have Lived Experiences vs Just Giving Their Opinions.

•One or Two People Should be the Main Group Contacts.

•Set Group Rules.

•Discuss the Highs and Lows Since Last Meeting.

•Meet Virtually.

•Decide How Often Meeting Will Be.

•Smaller Groups are Best.

•Don’t Make the Group too Big, 4-6 People in a Group is Good, too Many People Makes the Group is Counterproductive and Hard to Manage.

While watching a vlogger (entrepreneur) discuss planning and starting new projects.

She discussed her process for scheduling tours, marketing etc.

What I liked is her and other writers automatically plan for 7-9 sick days per quarter.

Everyone gets sick and employers need to acknowledge we are all human.
