Why does everything now make me more depressed. I've been doing ok-ish lately, until I had to come back from my boyfriends and return to my miserable life.
But everything 'bad' upsets me. If I read a book and something sad happens I get depressed and reminded of why I am. When I watch TV. Even on here... I'm frightened of reading all you guys posts in this forum incase I get more upset (sorry... I do care, and I do wish I could give support)
I know it's silly. I'm just fed up of being depressed and not getting anywhere, but when I do it just seems to be backwards.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I know how frustrating it can be, things that would normally roll off your back put another weight on your mind. I hope this dark cloud passes soon.

You're not silly, you need to help yourself first, we understand. Are you seeing a counselor? They can help you with things that are bothering you, and dig out things from your past that maybe causing you pain. Depression is a illness and has to go into remission before you can feel better. But I'm so sorry for you pain and wish you happiness, and may the dark clouds break and bring bright sunshine.

(((((((((Molly)))))))))))))

Self-care first. It can be a slippery slope sometimes, where one bad thing (even if it's on tv or in a book) can cause a depressive episode. It isn't silly, it's perfectly normal.

Are you talking to anyone IRL about this, even your boyfriend?

Have you read the saying, when you get a red car, suddenly all you see are red cars? I can see that you feel stuck in this bad scene. Can you see yourself taking a day off from everything depressing? Maybe have a pamper me day?

Thanks to all of you, really appreciate your hugs and support.
I'm not seeing a therapist... I tried, but I didn't feel comfortable with her and I ended up getting more depressed because I was anxious and not wanting to go to my sessions etc.
I don't know wether I want to see another one, I don't want to be reminded of bad times, I just want to move forward and I'm not sure they can help.
I do see a social worker at my old high school though who's been very friendly and helpful (she's also a qualified counsellor).

Thanks again, Molly
