Have you talked to anyone about these feelings? If not I think you should at the very least go talk to your dr about this, they can always refer you to a therapist which might help. I struggle with the overwhelming thoughts too sometimes I have found taking a warm bath or cold shower to be helpful to kinda pull me back to the present. Sometimes reading one of my favorite books can help too, it's hard to read and have thoughts racing through your mind at the same time. ![]()

the first thought i had was boy can i relate to how you're feeling! i used to have long periods of this agonizing state of mind. so sorry you are going through one of those times too. do you have a pdoc or T? the pdoc could adjust your meds if he/she thought that would help break the chain of depression/mania you're in.
when i'd get like this a long, brisk walk would definitely help. i realize just getting out of your own front door may be difficult but if you can use a crowbar..JK..and head on out it will probably help all the symptoms you are experiencing. i found when i was like this i couldn't really focus on any calming exercise like reading so physical exertion was the best solution for me. hope this helps.

it's so hard to get through these episodes! madisgram and gimmeice offered some good suggestions. I would also encourage you to check in with your doc...meds may need adjusted, but at the least he/she needs to know how you are feeling. I hope you feel better soon, Cap

Very much relating, except for the crying part. I've been distracting myself with the oh-so-helpful habit of watching T.V. It's better than some alternatives.

You made a start by reaching out into this forum for advice and help and that's a great thing and there are so many people that will offer you advice good advice and heaps of it. So take heart that in there somewhere you will find something that is right for you . Even if it is just a distraction from the day to day routine at least it will be something to build on. The cycle of up and down and feeling low CAN be stopped and believe it or not a more "normal" pattern of life obtained. I hope you will take what everyone else has said to heart and find some comfort ![]() |
