just can't process all of the pain that we're feeling. . .everyone at work is wishing us well for our b'day and all we want to do is cry and cry. can barely be here at work right now. not everyone inside feels 41 and birthday's are a trigger for some too. . .The hurt is overwhelming us.
we're bad and stuped
we don't deserve good attentions
we should be punished for being so stupid and needy and difficult.
hate our body and selves right now. just want to go away. . .

Dreamland:

My heart goes out to you about birthdays.

I had to change the day of our Birthday, at least here on PC. We can celebrate the day we choose to or not at all. It minimizes those 'hurtie memories' because they are attached to some other day. (Still have to figure them out eventually maybe but in your own time and way).

So you see you are: good, smart, strong, responsible, and most of all deserving.

i can relate to not liking birthdays. ugh. being spesh isn't always good.

here's some good attention for you, not masked as silly and ugly intentions - and i believe you deserve it 100%!

I'm so sorry you are hurting. I don't do birthdays either. On PC, I put a different date and then said don't show it anyway. When I started working this job I am in now, I told them I do not celebrate my birthday and did not want it coming up as birthday of the month. Thankfully they honored that. I do not remember any birthdays growing up, but they cause so much stress and unrest inside my head that I've found it better to ignore those days.

I hope you feel better soon. Please take gentle care.

Dear Dreamland,

For many years I wondered why I hated my bday soooo badly. Now I know. Evil abusers made a good day into something hateful and bad. As you can see many of us had that terrible experience of having good things turned bad/painful.

I have gotten enough help that now I can be ok on my bday. It is not a bad day anymore. I am older now (in my 50's) and most folks pay less attention to bdays as we get older. I am glad I was born and I am glad that God has helped me survive the evil ones who did their best to destroy me. Actually they are all dead now and I'm not, so I guess the last laugh is mine. Mostly I just do my best to forget them and live. I DO believe "The best revenge is to live well". The fact that I am still here and getting well shows that those petty, warped, pathetic cowards did not succeed in destroying me.

They did not succeed in destroying you either and as you live and heal you will finally believe that the triumph is yours as you move beyond them and the past....in good time!!!

I am glad you were born and that you are a member here. You matter!
