The last time I talked about this, I did not explain it very well.

I am a plus size female, I'm not extreamlly overweight though.
I feel like i'm over eatting all the time.
Just to give you guys a hint of my regular days, and when I over eat.

Regular days:

Eggs and toast
Pasta
2 25cent bags of chips
Chicken, corn and Garlic potatos (Just an example)

Over Eatting:

pasta (Or chocolate milk)
dollar bag of hot chettos
whole homemade pizza to myself
ice cream (Sometimes a big one)

I feel like i'm overeating all the time.
Even though some people say i'm not, and some say I am.

I want food all the time, but I hold back the urges.
I dont want to eat if I'm not bored. Which i'm bored most the time.

Sometimes I eat till I throw up, and some days I dont want food as much.
Its like my diets all over the place.

Is it bad to eat alot once in a while, like one day out of every 1-2 weeks?

Could this be a eating disorder, and should I talk to my doctor.

I would appreicate your thoughts.
Ill also keep you guys posted on how i'm doing.

I don't see anything very healthful there, everything out of balance. Your body needs certain nutrients. I would make an appointment with a dietician and see if they can help. You shouldn't feel hungry all the time, if you eat nutrient dense food that good for your body, that can be solved and pick up an activity or do and you won't be as bored/near the refrigerator :-)

I would talk to your doc, Rainbowz. I'm really glad you're seeking out answers and help! It does sound like this could be a problem (just from what you're describing). Some people will be bias in their opinions of it you overeat. Your thinner friends may say yes, and you're heavier friends may say no...it's all a matter of perception.

I think you're very brave...and yes, I do think you should see your doc. It definitely sounds like a binge disorder...and you're certainly not alone. In my observations, ED's can morph into each other over the years, so please go see someone. =) xoxo

I think you should attempt to eat more healthier and balanced. If your body is missing something you are gonna feel hungry and have cravings. Google the food pyramid and try to alter according your diet according to it. You will feel much better if your diet is balanced.

I agree. The sad thing with a diet like yours is that even if you are not very overweight now, this will creep up on you before you know it. You will gain weight steadily and it doesn't take that long. It happened to me. A balanced diet with nutrition is the only way to go. And like everyone said, if you suspect an eating disorder, I urge you to see your doctor.

I eat healthy, but not all the time.

If I skip a day or 2 of veggies and fruit, I try to make it up the next day, which I dont know if this is the best thing to do.

I eat, and keep track of my portions to make sure i'm getting what I need.
Its just sometimes I feel like its to much.

I went to my dietitan, and she told me I need to eat more! Which really surprised me ! .
She said I could use more meat and grain in my diet, like instead of white bread, eat some wheat once in a while.
I'm good on all my veggies and fruit though.
I though I was really strugling on my diet, when it turns out i'm doing a pretty good job.

Thanks for the support everyone and all of the helpful tips.!

The rule that I've been taught is - 3 meals a day, plus snacks (I go for 2 or 3 snacks on a good day).

I think you probably got some really good advice from your dietician and luckily they were able to point out where you were lacking or overdoing it. Good luck in working on what you discussed with your dietician ... I think it would help you to eat more often, remember to fit snacks in between meals, I think that keeps your metabolism working as it should and keep your energy levels where they should be. It's also a great way to fit fruit and veg in (my current favourite snack is carrot sticks and hummus dip!)

HI all, I'm looking ofr help and tips on how to get through a binge eating crave. I get triggered etc then get the idea of un healthy food into my head and I' off...over eating really bad food. When the addictive crave comes on there just doesn't seem to be anything else that can step in to sustitute it. The only thing that stops it is being around people (which I can't do every time a bingre crave comes) and even then I'm thinking about when I can be alone next so I can carry out my binge. Im working on looking at triggers etc. I just want to know if anyone else associates with what I've written and more importantly has anyone found a way thorugh the binge cravewithout binging? It's like a crack appears and all other thoughts are drained away into the crack and all I can think about is over eating on bad food.

Just remember, even fruit, which is high in natural sugar, should be eaten in moderation. Be careful with too many cherries, especially if you are eating other fruits during the day.

Sporty you are not alone I feel the same way, over eating is like a sword fight for me ! , Eather I ignore the craving or I give in and let it win!

When you get these cravings try reading a book,or hang with some friends. Even eat a little healthy snack to make the craving stop for a little bit.

Hope this helps.

i know what you mean sporty, one thing i have started to do is i have started keeping a box of healthy food near me to eat whenever i feel like binging, im not sure it works to reduce the craving but it kinda helps a bit, normally a few nuts and a bit of dried fruits which are healthier than my normal binging food and i guess iv binged less since i started doing it

i prefere dried fruits to fresh fruits cos theyre less sugary. i tend to buy two bags of dried cranberries a week , its 300 cals a bag and i try to eat nothing else all week, until the binge craving hits me then ... not good. but having small amounts of healthy snacks on hand help me to stop binging.

I'll eat a ton of salad, or sauté spinach or bok choy....can eat as much as you want, and the calorie content is still low (just be careful how you make it..)
