was wanting to ask your opinion on something ..... well i don't usually tell people this but i used to weigh 367 lbs now i am down to 228 but i haven't done it in the best way .... everyone is so proud of me for losing the weight but only one person knows besides my therapist that food is a problem for me .... i either restrict alot or i eat a normal amount and then purge. however for the past 3 weeks i have been trying to eat atleast 1200 calories like my counselor wants me to my doctor wants me to eat 1600 but i am afraid i will gain weight .... anyway the thing is my former mother-in-law recomended weight watchers and i am still friends with her ...the only thing is you have to eat the total amount of points for it to work.... my point range is 28 which is about 1500 calories which seems like alot to me but i was think the support might be nice and maybe they could help me learn to eat right you know? tell me what you think please

I think it is worth trying Weight Watchers. I've never been to it but I know couple of people who are members and it gives them a balanced diet at the least.

I think they would help you to get a good feel for were you need to be at for cal and point consumption for the day and support you. And you could meet a lot of nice people with a lot of the same issues. They give you a goal weight. And they help you. My friend goes she loves it.you know I'm anorexic and honestly I'd go but I live in such a small community they'd laugh at me. But I' d go for support ya know good luck.

From what I've read, the average person should take in about 2000 calories per day. By cutting down even to 1600 you will probably keep loosing weight, just not as fast. Going below 1200 for several months did bad things to my body that 10 years later I'm still dealing with. Patience is a virtue and anything good - including a healthy body - is worth waiting for.

you've already lost alot or weight i see. And its okay to feel you want to lose more. Try going on weight watchers or eat more filling food, like oatmeal or something. And exercise atleast 30min. a day, either walking, jogging, lifting weights, sit ups, running, swimming. Take a new hobbie!!
You've got my support and love. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Exactly. It restricts how much we eat but doesnt restrict what we eat. I feel that this is my biggest problem. If I could eat one cookie I wouldnt feel the need to purge however I always end up eating the box. Weight Watchers would be a great thing to join to help control your urge and it gives you something to focus on. |

For me it comes down to gettig real honest about what I know about my particular relationship with food, and what I need to do to change that "for ME' I have found OA's program to be simple and honest. And theres no dues or fees. I had to give up certain things for me at first and later reinorporated them into my diet. I have always treid to substitue a healthy food for a troublesome one. I call it guilt free eating, something I can trust in and of course the main issue is accepting a healthy weight , And finding a correct assesment of my body image,/ size I had to let go of the thought I am fat even though I used to be. not panicking if the scale number goes up and THE primary big one. To not compare myself with others "When I compare, I despair .. " And not to judge my insides by someone elses outsides. ![]() ![]() |
