I went for a 3 mile walk / jog yesterday. I was so proud. Today I did cardio at the gym. Tomorrow, I'm planning for another walk / jog outside at the lake, in the morning. I need to do my pt exercises and stretch more. But my shoulder is getting better.

Hey Coco, I hear you. I don't do well in hot temps either. Its been in the 80s here and I'm so ready for it to be jeans and scarf weather again It kind of went from winter to summer here, it seems. Quite drastically.

Hi Ceph I'm glad to see you here.

Welcome, Altarian!

Monday & Thursday were the usual classes which went well.

Tuesday was manual labour that was hard on the feet but not good exercise. Ah well, at least that particular chore is done and dusted for the year.

Wednesday I did cardio.

Today (Friday) is normally a rest day, but I might change things around a bit. I did some leg work today, but nothing grand.

I'm encouraged to keep at it by everyone plugging away here. Go team!

I have walked a couple miles today. Three quarters of a mile was up hill, sometimes steep for me. As a consequence, my heart went up to 167 bpm. I burned 560 calories. By the end of the day, I will have consumed about 3000 calories. I am trying to gain a couple pounds, so I have increased my calorie intake by 50%, and reduced my exersize by the same percentage. It has been almost a week of this and my weight has remained at 174 to 175 pounds. Once I gain a few pounds, perhaps to 180, I will return to walking four miles every other day. My goal is to be able to run a good distance, let’s say a half a mile to start. That would be awesome. Probably not until sometime next year. I am using MFP to count calories including calories burned along with the use of a fitness watch to track my walking.

@starrysky Good going! Keep on trucking!

PS I was getting lonely on the other diet thread with just two of us posting there most of the time.

I had about 13500 steps yesterday. For some reason, my watch and app are not syncing today. Paddled this morning but not really much exercise. Went with one of my kids and had him in the kayak and me on the SUP and we paddled a canoe trail through a cypress swamp that was a very cool place to be and we caught a few fish, but it really wasn't that much exercise; maybe a mile or so of paddling. Will get some walking in when it cools down.

Weighed 159 this morning.

Nice Canoeing sounds very fun. 13,500 steps sounds like a lot.

The past few days, I haven't been exercising. I have a UTI, and had a reaction to the medication the doctor put me on today. Its a bit chilly out, but I think tomorrow I will walk by the lake or by my parents house.

Thanks Tucson! Welcome to the daily exercise thread Feel free to post about other stuff in terms of your own wellness besides exercise (if you'd like).

I was wondering why you are trying to gain weight? If that's to personal of a question, sorry and feel free not to answer!

Not personal at all. I am a bit paranoid about losing too much weight. My arms are thin, I thick too much so. Last year my weight lost was out of control. My weight dropped from 235 pounds to now 175. This happened in a relatively short amount of time, sometimes losing a couple pounds a day. I managed to stop the weight loss. However, not too long ago, I was at 178 to 179 pounds. Without meaning to, here I have lost some more weight. However, if I gain too much weight, I will no longer to be able to fit in my new wardrobe. For instance, my old pants are at least over five inches too large.

I was arrested for a DUI where I almost hit a mother and her child broadside. Went through two red lights. I have no memory of this. First time in my life I felt terrified over what almost had happened, which caused the weight loss. FWIW the charges were dropped since they found nothing in my blood to have caused this. I am seeing a neurologist later this month over this and other matters. I am still not over it even though this happened almost a year ago. I am relieved no one was hurt. I would of never been able to forgive myself otherwise.

PS Anyways, I apologized in advance if I sometimes carry on about the distance I walked, the speed I had attained, and my peak heart rate, and total calories burned. I have a fun toy on my wrist which is a fitness watch. It provides me with so much information, most of which I really do not need. However, it does motivate me to improve my previous stats.

MFP calories 1804. Apple Watch steps 4,329.
Water intake 50.7oz. Well I went over my calories (1280) that’s because I went out to eat for Mother’s Day with both of my daughters. Afterwards me and my youngest daughter walked around indoors.

Thanks for explaining. I'd feel the same way if it were me (very freaked out). I hope your neurologist appt. goes well. That sounds like a good thing to do. Yes, that whole thing sounds very disconcerting and super unnerving (if that were me). I hope you can find a way to forgive yourself at some point. I have noticed that I get distracted by my thoughts lately while driving, and it's kind of scary because I have caught myself almost going through red lights and I almost hit bicyclist the other day. Do you take the bus / walk now? Regardless, here's a hug for you.

I wish I had a fun wrist toy. like a fit bit. Carry on all you want.

Sat: brother visited so no official exercise, but moved furniture and did various outdoor work

Sun: used rowing machine in little garden house with double doors open (but screened)

Mon (today): stretching class, and did some track and stairs beforehand

Hello Tucson and UpDownAround!

Hope you're feeling better soon, starry.

Good luck with the morning walks Coco. It's blood hungry fly season here at the moment which makes walking unpleasant, even with bug repellent.

Hi Ceph

You guys are so good. You're all inspiring me.

Oh my, blood hungry flies! We will be getting them more around summer. Reminds me to not walk in the woods then because all sorts of winged things dive bomb your head and whisper scream in your ear.

I'm still recuperating. I think this new med is ok. I've had pretty bad anxiety about it though, and my mom said to find ways to distract myself.

Yesterday I just did some stretches at my parents house. If I exercise today I will post about it later today. Its probably a good idea to. I noticed movement takes my mind off the anxiety.
