How do you motivate yourself?

Part of it is music or audiobooks for me when I do low intensity cardio. I look forward to the time when I can hear music or a story. Since I do not have time to read these days, audiobooks are all I get. And I have invested in cool headphones: I have a set of bone conduction headphones for walks outside (they are safer for outdoors) and nice pretty color well-cushioned over ear headphones for indoor exercise. I even have a very old but functional mini ipod that can be submerged in water and I plan to swim with it come summer.

So audio is a big part of motivation for me. Would something like this work for you?

Today I had a Quest protein cookie for breakfast and a lime Pepsi a few hours later. Around 9 I had a strawberry Ensure. Lunch was a chili cheese dog and an iced matcha. Not the greatest combination. It didn't stay down.

I'm at 1,154 calories, 155 carbs, and 51 grams of protein.

Dinner will probably just be salmon

I have actually lost a little bit of weight, but I am going on vacation and am afraid that in those 9 days lost pounds will pile back up.

Thanks. Music used to work for me, especially running but it seems to no longer motivate me in the same way (I do sometimes listen when I’m walking though). Audiobooks are great and podcasts but for some reason I could never concentrate on them while exercising, I’m in awe that you can do that!

Maybe you simply exercise at a higher intensity than I do when you listen to audiobooks or podcasts. I do not use them for high intensity workouts.

I was hesitant about telling my GI I started Golo on Saturday. But I figured I needed to tell them. She asked what it was and I said it was for my weight. She looked it up and asked if it was helping one way or the other but didn't make a fuss about me being on it.

I'm not having any side effects from it and it does seem to lower my appetite quite a bit.

I'm discouraged. I'm exercising every day, and I do feel stronger, but I'm still a whale, and I always will be.

I didn't actually realize a small frosted animal cookie blizzard had 720 calories. Oops.

Overall I'm at 1,391 calories, 201 carbs, and 27 grams of protein.
