I came across this site because I was concerned about myself. I did not want people to suggest that I need therapy. I don't. I'm normal.
I understand that you think it would be best for me to tell someone close to me, but I cannot do that. If I do then they'll die. They'll come for all of us. I'm just so scared. I've taken many quizzes on this website. Nearly all said that something was likely wrong with me. They said it therapy would be beneficial. I don't need therapy. I'm not crazy. I'm perfectly normal. In fact, I'd even say that I'm better than most people. I would just like to know why everyone here (the "professionals") keep hinting that I'm not okay. I'm okay! |

Hello LittleOldMe, welcome to Psych Central,
In another thread you wrote this ... Quote:
So, you do need help and support. It sounds like the anxiety is making you feel paranoid. Please go and see your doctor. ![]()

Agree with Pegasus, there is a reason you are asking. Don't worry so much about "normal", it isn't necessarily a "good" tag. Don't be afraid, if you think you are ok and others do not, do take this to a professional to sort out. Consider it a learning experience, an exploration...if you are ok it will not distress you-----if you need help, and we all do sometimes, it will be a relief to let go of the "normal" ID.

It seems to me that your being okay, and that you are concerned about yourself, are a bit in contradiction. Can you explain? Are you worried that a "professional" might bring harm to you in some way?

Thank you all for replying. I'm very sorry, I wasn't in my right mind when I posted this. It's just that I can't sleep anymore. Nighttime is the worst for me because I can feel things coming for me. I know they are. I don't know exactly what they are, but I see the shadows that move. I understand that there are people who are willing to help me, but I'm afraid telling someone the thoughts I think will scare them because I know they scare me. I read a quote once, and at the moment it feels very much like my life:
"Monsters are real and ghosts are real, too. They live inside us and sometimes, they win." ~Stephen King |

Isn't Stephen King a writer of fiction?

When I feel REALLY bad, I get scared that the men in the white coats are coming for me. It's really scary. Like the other posters, I recommend seeing your general practitioner. Hopefully he/she can get you a psych referral. If there's nothing wrong with you, you can at least get help for the insomnia. Insomnia makes me NUTS, like paranoid and everything.
Don't worry that the docs will be scared by your thoughts. I can pretty much guarantee you that they've heard it all! Best of luck to you! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is why people are suggesting therapy. Therapy is okay, it's just talking. It can help to sort out what's bothering you. Even people without mental health issues seek therapy to get through rough spots.
