No kidding! I put a quarter and a golf ball up to the screen to just show me how much larger she looked on screen then she would look in person. Do you see their open eyes? I read that their eyes are full sized at birth and if you compare the eyes of the babies with Pheobe's they do look the same size.

I do see their eyes!! The picture up right now is a classic!!!!! There is a squawking baby's head poking out sideways from beneath Phoebe's body!!!

I see that too. There isn't much room in there anymore. How will they manage another couple of weeks! I read some comments on the chat that the babies squeeked but I haven't heard anything out of them yet... have you?

No, I haven't either! I've also been wondering how on earth they are all going to fit in that little nest for another two weeks!!

Check this out.... I just figured out to do a screen save and I caught one of the babies with its tongue out. The light isn't very good for picture taking now so I will try again tomorrow when the light is better and play some more.

This is probably a dumb question, but those little dark "droppings" outside the nest, that is the toileting of the babies?

I just watched the dawning of a new day. Phoebe was busy bringing food before it was light outside. I love hearing the sound of her wings. It's so quiet at this time, that you can hear her feeding her babies. My goodness - they sure eat alot...already been fed 4 times already lol.

It's been a few days since this thread has been updated. I just saw one of the babies flap his/her wings just like a grown hummingbird. I suspect they'll be flying soon.

It sure is crowded in that nest! One of the chatters said that the nest is bound with spider silk so it expands with them like spandex.Today they were both flapping around trying to get comfy and sleeping from all the exertion.

Darn, I haven't peeked in for a couple of days, and now it's too dark out. I'll have to drop in tomorrow. The babies weren't active yet when I saw them last, other than to open their mouths for food. This is so cool!!!
Thanks for this!

It really is cool lavieenrose. You'll be amazed how fast they grow in just 2 days lol. 0ne day I was peeking in on them from morning till dusk and I swear they grew during that time lol. Yesterday one of them fluttered his/her wings really fast like Phoebe does. I've had so much pleasure watching this livecam.

it's so relaxing to watch them...i especially like when a light breeze is blowing and you can see the down feathers flutter and Phoebe try to stay balanced on the branch.

Wow! The baby on the right was buzzing his wings. He looked like he was about to take flight. He seems more developed than his sibling. Did he hatch first? I can't believe how much they've grown. And is mama gone for longer periods? Seems that way.
