This is how I make 2 quarts of sweet tea, In about 3 cups boiling water I add 8 small tea bags. I let it steep/sit for an hour. I use 1/2 cup sugar but some use much more than that! I add the rest of the water stir well and refrigerate it.

That's sweet tea. In the south (hot & humid) ICED sweet tea is the regional
drink of many.
I wasn't on top of the post but just saw it. Thanks for answering that! Boiled peanuts sound like they'd be quite different taste sensation/experience than the standards one gets at the grocer up here. I suppose maybe we can get them green at a bulk store maybe?? Never heard of the boiling thing though. I would like those I know it!

Aha..sweet tea. A summery drink mostly? I'm from the land where cold weather and hot tea are the greatest of pals. Our summers back east can range from 55/70F and cooler right on the coast so 'bilin' the kittle' is a frequent thing any time of year. I'm in SW Ontario right now. The summer heat here can be bad...on occasion in the low 90s and the humidity is moiderous. Especially for a cold climate preferer. Iced or sweet tea would be a popular summer drink. I know the iced variety is. Sweet tea sound delish. I'm going to go boil my kettle right now...all this tea talk!
Thanks for this!

West Virginia, USA, here. WV is the red-haired stepchild of the country. I've listened to the stereotypes of this state all my life. I don't fit the mold, but I never did. Growing up in Boone County on Coal River, I remember, while attending the 3 room schoolhouse, getting into a fight on the school grounds with a girl who taunted me because I said I wanted "to be an artist.! LOL l was a fish out of water.

I'm Hispanic...however

1. I am a legal citizen, and so where my parents and grand-parents.
2. My mom and dad only had my brother and I, just two kids.
3. We are not Catholic...we were raised a little more extreme than that.
4. I am kinda tall (5'6'' and 1/2)
5. I am rather fair skinned ("porcelain" I guess)
6. I do not speak Spanish fluently...I wish I did but my parents mostly spoke English to us.

Bravo Alegra

I'm not Hispanic - only my name is Hispanic because I'm married to one (Mexican/American Indian heritage). My beloved husband is also a legal citizen, as were his parents and grandparents. Some in his family were here before this was even a country. How silly it sounds when jerks think they are smart by saying "go back to where you came from" when they never even left.

My son is black. He is MY son, I had him naturally, and NO, I was not raped. People have actually asked me that question, along with "did you know his father." It's very insulting. I was legally married to my ex-husband, and we were together for a total of 10 years.

My son is an adult. He also likes to wear hoodies, and he has several tattoos. He is not and has never been a gang member. He served four honorable years in the Navy, Auxiliary Special Forces, hazardous duty - in college now, honor society. My husband served in the Army, a proud member of the Big Red One. Neither one of them are "wannabe thugs."

I'm a white woman. Some have called me a "N-lover." Again, highly offensive.

Speaking of racial stereotypes, Kathy, I once knew an uneducated welfare mother whose children all had different fathers, none of whom had ever been married to her. Based solely on the description of the lifestyle, so many people would expect the woman and/or at least one of the fathers involved to be black. None of them were. All white people, every one.

I'm British - No I don't have bad teeth, drink tea or know the Queen. Nor do I use "chap" as part of my day to day language.

My parents are Irish - No they're not alcoholics, only my mum is Catholic, but they do like potatoes.

I am a youth (19) and I like to wear hoodies and I was born into a council estate - No I don't have any plans to knife you, steal from your shop or beat up your grandma.

I am diagnosed with autism - I am not a social retard, just quiet and selective.

I went to a Catholic school - I'm not religious at all, I'm agnostic.
Thanks for this!

Scandinavian.

Supposed to be tall. Eh. No.
Blonde? Well I actually was as a child but hair darkens as you get older. The Scandinavian 40 year olds who are really blonde, yea none of them are for real.
Blue eyes? I had kind of greyish blue eyes as a kid. Then again, age and pigmentation, have hazel eyes now. A mix of my old eye color, dark aqua and yellowish brown.
Always tan, always at the beach in the summer... no, I stay clear of the sun and I hate heat.
Binge drinking... nope heck nope.
Keeping to myself, actually yea kinda, that is what I actually LIKE about Scandinavians, they don't go round bothering strangers, although I CAN get a little too loud and "manicky" for being Scand.
Some people say we're well read and intelligent... I'll just have to nod my head there, true or not.
Thanks for this!
