I like to cook up something to tide me through the weekday lunches on Sunday afternoon this week I made a pasta with broccolini and spicy chicken sausage along with a coconut mango upside down cake. Anyone else cooking today?

This is a long weekend, so today or tomorrow we are going to make peanut butter, nut and fruit cookies to eat after swimming sessions. I'll soak some beans today and make some multi-day main dish from scratch tomorrow as well.

I cook pretty much every day! It's so relaxing for me, personally, as long as I have the time to dedicate to doing everything calmly. There's nothing worse than feeling rushed & having to handle sharp objects & boiling water!!

Made my boyfriend 5 lunches this week from a big pot of chili with homemade chicken broth, chicken, black, white, & cannellini beans & some other veggies. $8! Tonight is veggie rotini with red wine marinated chicken, green bell peppers, parmesan alfredo for him & a mushroom sauce for me.

Most days I do the cooking, at least for dinner, there are exceptions, but I would say about 98% the time it is me....And I Only cook on a charcoal kettle grill, but will do it even in the middle of a snow storm (high winds MIGHT stop me, but not much else - oh, perhaps rain so hard coals won't light).
I don't do the "standard" BBQ stuff either - I mean I will, but also add stuff like; Whole turkey (that comes out so good my family now insists on my BBQing the one for Thanksgiving day), Corned beef brisket, whole chicken, basically anything - veggies get cooked that way too...And I even get fancy and use fresh fruit sometimes, and different wood chunks in the coals (Masque, Apple, Cherry, Peach).

That sounds so good to me right now. I'm only allowed an electric grill so really why bother?

I cook everyday, mostly casseroles, stews, pastas, sausages and mash, stuff like that. On weekends, if hubby is home, he will BBQ and I will do the salads. Every second Sunday, when hubby is home, we will do something nice for lunch and I only have to prepare the side dishes. I enjoy the time off.

Wow you're a lot more ambitious than me. I still see cooking as an adventure so I only cook things I've never tried before.

I love to cook. It is my favorite recreational activity. I cook a total meal nearly every night. Saturday is my "play" day and we often go out. Sunday I cook something really special and I bake that day as well. Right now a friend of mine is getting chemo and radiation therapy. I make her family a meal once a week so she does not have to worry about it. I hope it is helping her because it sure is helping me. Not only do I get to cook more but I get to give it away. I also often send a meal over to our neighbor. His wife died a little over a year ago and he is not a real good cook.

I am writing a menu as part of my job. I am having so much fun reviewing recipes, planning meals and then taste testing the foods we pick. It is a very hard task but I can lose myself in a recipe search if things get hectic and it relaxes me instantly.

I love that you say you get to give it away...I've found that allows you to enjoy it even more...I used to bring in a homemade cake for everyone's birthday at work and we all celebrated.

Yes, barbequed chicken breasts marinated in balsalmic vinagrette and lemon, cornbread stuffing, mashed russett potatoes, white peppered gravy and broccoli and cheese.

just a bit of light cooking today....
1 dozen butterfly cakes,
1 dozen strawberry muffins,
1 dozen lemon muffins,
1 dozen chocolate muffins,
1dozen chocolate mint muffins,
9 chocolate orange muffins,
a cherry bar cake,
1 dozen coconut tartlets
1dozen mini lemon marangues
oh and special egg fried rice for supper!

tomorrow i start on the wheat dairy free ones
1 w/d free fatless sponge sandwich cake
1 dozen w/d free black forrest cakes/muffins
1 w/d free swiss roll

I may actually make one w/d free swiss roll for myself too, the rest are for an AGM on Thursday.

I have little choice but to cook as i have too many allergies/intollerances to buy ready made stuff, also i save money by growing most of the easy prep veg too (i can't use a peeler or cut hard veg so buy raw ready prepd ones) i love cooking a roast as it lasts me for days. I don't even buy cooked meat for sandwiches, i cook my own and make my own w/d free bread too.
though i do cheat occasionally, if i want chips (thick fries to you Americans!) i buy a Kids portion from the chip shop, eat half and freeze the rest, they are great reheated in the oven, really crispy just how i like them!

i make my own curly kale crisps, right from seed to garden to oven to tummy!

My fiancee is at home right now making me eggplant parmesan. And last week I made these killer meatballs...my first time. Had 'em with spaghetti. There's still some in the freezer. We'll be cracking into those puppies soon enough.

That's why a mobile home, not an apartment (besides less rent) - you can not do REAL BBQ with electric!, or even gas - gota be charcoal with or without wood, or just plain wood.

Well, it depends on how old - really young kids I doubt I could please due to there pallet simply not understanding what well prepared food even is, typically it seems like about 15 and up and the will like at least my meat/poultry, vegetables though, well your on your own there - kids seem to not like vegetables because they are vegetables, and no other reason - therefore no matter how well prepared, spiced, exc. it's a loosing battle - but I'll still try if you really want me to, but your kid, you take the blasting.

I have just finished the w/d free ones and a dozen scones which will get jam and fresh cream in them tomorrow (i can vouch that the swiss roll is delicious as i have tried the cut offs, so the w/d free sandwich cake and sponge drops will be good too as they all came from the same batch of mix!)
