I don't consider myself a gamer, but I play PC games every once in a blue moon. Basically, I buy a game and play it for several days, then get bored and give up. I waste money, pretty much, and it sucks that I can't resell used games. It doesn't help me become a better gamer, of course. My problem is, I like RPGs, but I'm tired of the same old, same old. Fantasy games are all about going on quests and fighting people, monsters, and other characters. Nothing wrong with that, but I just want something different. I do like game art, though. I am more interested in horror games, but those, too, are mostly the same, and they all fall into the sub- genre of action horror. Those can be fun, don't get me wrong, but I want a straight-up horror game, not something mixed with scifi and action. I mean, I want there to be some action, but I want some more classic or original horror that doesn't mix other genres.

I mainly play my Nintendo 3ds because I can watch tv on my computer at the same time. But I have a ps2 and ps3. I love Final Fantasy, Erin Odyssey, Shin megami tensei, harvest moon, rune factory, kingdom hearts, persona, pokemon, and some platformers like kirby and yoshis new island and the new donkey kong. But I'm bad at platformers, and I cant play shooters to save my life. I like more slow paced games. I also like strategy games like the old war craft games and civilization type games but I haven't played one in a long time. Of and I kind of like the sims. But mostly I'm an RPG fan.

I left just before the first major jungle revision, too, and when coming back meant relearning it all again it just wasn't appealing.

I was a Warcraft fan back in the day when it was a strategy game so WoW appeals to me, but I don't have anyone to play with and I'm not going to pay a monthly fee for solo play that other people can intrude on.
I'm also a steam player. But I've had many of consoles in the past. {<>,<>}=

I'm definitely not a gamer, but I only play Batman games And those Arkham stuff are the one of the best games ever created. But, one thing in particular that came out when I was 19 that literally changed a lot of perspectives in my life, and that was The Last of Us, and it is the only game I've been playing ever since it came out. I don't know how many times I've beaten it even, I lost count!

What platform is the last of us on? And what kind of game is it?

I've played a couple of games over and over, especially kingdom hearts dream drop distance (which is majorly underrated imo) and rune factory 3 and 4. And final fantasy 9. They're just as good if not better every time.

The Last of Us was released for PS3 only, and then they made a remastered version of it for the PS4. It is a survival horror game, but you're walking into pure drama here. Although it is very intense and gory with violence, it is mostly filled with heart and emotional scenes that you'll not expect, and the writing is really, really good. The character developments are really cool too, and the chemistry between them worked out pretty well. The developing studio Naughty Dog killed it with their cut scenes, the creative director is intelligently "creative", he also wrote the entire script for the game, his name is Neil Druckmann.

As I said, I'm not a gamer, but I would love to be able to design games. I've heard there's a real prejudice against female game designers and even players. I know it's just TV, but Law & Order: SVU had an episode involving this portrayal of the gaming world. I don't think most male gamers think like that, but why do some of them feel games are a man's domain?

Also, I love playing RPGs and fighting monsters every now and then, but wouldn't you like to see some games that appeal to a broader scale of women?

I think that had changed somewhat in recent years. More girls are gamers these days.

I might check out the last of us. Is it largely text based because my tv is so small text is often too blurry to read on most games on the ps3. That's why I hardly ever use it. I really need a better tv.

You play LOL??!! How on earth do you put up with that vile and toxic community!! League of Legends, DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) and most other MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games are famous for hosting a player base of the the most hateful, racist, misogynistic group of people on the planet.

I'm sure your not Hellion, but still, why expose yourself to such people. At least tell me you are steering clear of their forums.

As for me, I'm currently playing FireFall. A player-verse-environment MMORPG, which means the people there are actually civil and HELPFUL, since its the players verse the game, not the typical MOBA dog eat dog environment.

FYI: Here is an honest review of the game, you'll soon see what I mean.

There has been quite a bit of coverage in the news about ... well, just look up anything Gamergate and sexism in games.

Personally, I've always been under the impression that women would like to play RPG or FTS games, but with independent and stronger female characters. For example, the male character wears heavy plate mail with only his eyes peeking out of the visor, but the female equivalent barely has a plate over each nipple. What's up with that? And "jiggle physics"? Really?

Heck, I had only played SWTOR, a game with a very high population of women gamers, before a young lady exclaimed, "Jeeze, does every girl in this game have huge boobs!?"

How about a female equivalent of Duke Nukem? A no-nonsense gal that doesn't wear a bikini, rides a Harley and has to save the guy? Just sayin' ...
