Im mad mad mad.
I got denied based on missing four appointments when i had no money to get to my appointments. So they say that because they havent gotten any new reports, I am declined. Great. Now I have to apply and have another three month wait to look forward to. And, since i missed the appointments, my psych closed my case. Great. *bleak sigh* |

you can appeal and not reapply if you do it right away. get those appts in if you can

<font color="black"> Because of the many people that are applying these days,they usually deny you the first,and sometimes the second time as well,but don't give up,because you will get a lump sum check dated when you finally do get approved from the day you first applied,keep appealing!And get those appointments in,even of you have to go to a different psych agency!If you finally get approved you will be so glad you did! Don't give up,I'm on disability!I know how hard it is,and how long it takes,but don't give up,it will be worth it when you get it,if you do!

I understand. In the middle of my disability leave, they denied me further benefits because I couldn't make an appointment with one of their doctors - never mind that one wouldn't see me and the other couldn't be contacted and when I did make it to an office I had an attack and flipped out and had to leave before he would see me. (That last one threatened to call the police on me. Wouldn't you think he'd get it - I mean when you work with people in the mental health field, you know they're coming in because they have issues. He should have known how to deal with an attack like that.)
Anyways, I appealed and went before a judge and they ruled in my favor as I had made a best effort to get to one of their doctors. (Still had to go see an independent doctor - but finally got in and the one I saw was much more compassionate and did not prejudge me.) So keep trying. (((hugs)))
