A lot of stuff I want is in high demand and other people also want it. I was looking at something at the grocery store and I had someone breathing down my neck because she was looking at it too. It was Planters Cheez Balls. The store only had the Cheez curls. It irks me that people have to hover.

Okay, rant time...

In my workplace pay is based entirely on seniority. I don't agree with this. There are some in my department that are getting near $30 an hour. They also get the great shifts - shifts that do not come with any additional duties. Most of these duties are extremely stressful. They come with a great deal of responsibility, increased effort, and are generally pretty crappy too. Why is it then that I, paid the lowest amount at $13/hr, am having them thrust upon me? I really resent this. Any other job I have had has come with an increase in pay that reflects an increase in responsibility and performance requirements. I am extremely stressed too as adequate training for each of the new jobs added to my ever growing list is completely lacking. I keep feeling like I am being thrown to the wolves and under the bus. Meanwhile some of these senior coworkers act as though this was some big joke to them. It just seems so entirely unfair.

My other half tells me they likely had to put in their own time. Perhaps this is true but it definitely does not make it right.

Having the most responsibilities and duties in the department should be reflected in my pay.

Thereis something else going on here too which makes this all seem entirely my own fault. I regret having worked so hard to prove myself and do a good job. Good work is rewarded with more of it sort of thing. You see, there is another person in the department that was hired at the same time as myself making the same wage. Yet she has yet to perform any of the additional duties in question; basically, she would be completely inept at doing so (frankly I can't figure out why they keep her on). Her not having to do a damn thing only infuriates me further.

"if you want to feed the ducks, you could always go to the duck pond."

when people had middle names
I mean I don't have a problem with it, if they are born with a middle name, that's that

but in day to day conversation, you don't use it. you only use the first name- possibly the last

so why does the middle exist

decoration to what otherwise could be a boring name?

When there are 4 sets of doors, and the couple behind you (who is still a ways away) has to use the same door as you which means you have to hold the door open for them. There are 3 other doors right next to each other. Are they that lazy that they can’t open a door themselves? It irked my mom too.

irksome yes, but I look at this as an opportunity to do something nice. It makes me feel good to do this and is part of having a nice day. Besides, people do the same for me so I figure it all works out in the end. I actually aim for a door partially opened.
Thanks for this!

Yeah. Thanks. I’ve been cranky lately so everything’s been irking me.

What has irked me today is the people they are forgetting to mention that have died this year. Plenty more people have died then just Barbara and George H.W Bush, Stephen Hawkins, Aretha Franklin, Stan Lee, and John Mcain. In the 3 tributes I’ve seen this past week I’ve seen no mention of the creator of Spongebob. The Today Show had a segment on him when he died but no mention of him in their tribute last week.

It’s weird though that they would recognize Charlotte Rae in one of the tributes but not Stephen. I’m pretty sure there are few who know of her besides the randos on Sitcoms Onlines who are obsessed with Different Strokes and The Facts Of Life.

when people call me "mate".

I associate mate with something you might say to a group of guys at a bar

not something to a girl doing her shopping

Yeah he died back in the summer. Either right before or right after Aretha Franklin.

I get kind of irked when people at work constantly ask me what time it is. These people have watches that work, or phones on them that are working. I see them text on them when they should be working. I don’t get what the point of asking me the time is when they are perfectly capable of taking out their phone to look. The other day this coworker asked me what time it was about 4 times in 20 minutes. Today this other coworker asked me “Mountaindewed? The time?”

I can’t really say no to them. I don’t know where they get the idea that I’m the time keeper though.

A coworker stands 2ft away from a screen that has the time on it yet every five minutes as the end of shift approaches asks what time it is. Our duties by the way are time sensitive. Why can't she just get a watch or at least look behind her?

It irks me when there is multiple accidents every where during a snow storm. People are warned to drive to the conditions and they refuse to. Also it is highly recommended to get snow tires, yet people refuse to do that and depend on all season go figure accidents all over
Thanks for this!

That’s weird that when you quoted me the end of my post changed to something I didn’t write. But when I go back to my original post it’s still the same. Is that something you did? I didn’t know we could do that.

Yeah we used to have a clock but it broke.

I was kind of irked at lunch today. My mom was saying that we are going on vacation to Michigan for Labor Day weekend 2019 so we will need to make hotel reservations in April. I’m all for going on as many vacations as possible in a year, but I also like focusing on the right now and talking about Labor Day plans now seems kind of ridiculous.

Mountaindewed, this is a common practise in citing a source. It abbreviates the quote while maintaining the content. I am sorry if you felt snubbed by this and did not realise what I was doing. I was in fact still addressing your point and don't feel the meaning changed at all. If you feel I have done so I apologise for misunderstanding it then in the first place. At the heart of this is the fact that I felt your own post important enough to address.

I hear you Cheryl27! It is as though that first flake of snow hits the road and everyone forgets how to drive for the season.

I was driving the freeway yesterday that goes around my city. It was snowing reducing visibility and cars were lining the ditches. I was driving below the speed limit and some moron comes up right behind my tail and starts honking. Dude! Just because the speed limit is posted doesn't mean you must drive that fast. Drive for the conditions! So he passed me and fished his truck back and forth, back and forth, as he did so.

Also, having a 4 wheel drive pick-up doesn't at all make the vehicle better on the icy roads.

Folks, they have studded winter tires for a reason. And if you live in the snow belt there is no excuse for not having them. The rubber on all seasons is good only to 7C and all weather tires slightly better.
Thanks for this!

And on a related note....

It bothers me that people who live in cold regions don't plug their block heaters (cars) in at night then call in to say they can't get to work. Sheesh, this was preventable.

No, I was not offended at all. I was actually pretty amused. I found it to be funny. I just had no idea this existed. I know your posts and know you are not being mean.

Sorry. I should have been more clear.
