I suppose you could say I got exercise today, and yesterday too. I'm currently on vacation with my husband and daughter, and jumping waves at the beach really takes a lot out of a person. Then it's hard work fighting the waves to get back to shore, and then walking uphill in sand when your feet want to sink into it ankle deep. At least it's hard work for me, since I have some mobility limitations. My body certainly does feel like I've been exercising.

I also bought a beach ball for that purpose. That old childhood game of "don't let it touch the floor" is exercise for me.

speed isn't everything, pleasure is more important! it takes me neirly two hours to swim 30 lengths (750m) and do i care, nope i enjoy every minute of it because i am equal to everyone else in the pool... not the disabled one in the wheelchair that i am seen as out of it!

Swimming is about the only thing I can do that approaches athletic.

A couple of days ago (still on vacation) I ended up in some trouble. We've been trying different beaches. I think the one we were at that day is better suited to surfers than to swimmers. In fact, the Beach Boys mentioned that beach by name in one of their songs, and it's the whole title of a Jan and Dean song. (Wanna play a guessing game as to where I am? ) Anyway, I tried jumping waves as I had done before, but I was barely knee-deep in the water when a really strong one knocked me off my feet. Even on solid ground, if I fall down I can't get back up without help. Add a tide coming in, and shifting sand under me, and I might as well not have had legs. Those waves kept crashing over me, one after the other. It took my husband, my daughter, and some man we don't even know to pull me out from under the water. Thank you, man we don't know!

Will be doing a 5k walk around the lake today with my children. I am trying to do more exercise but i really dont enjoy it, and am on a very limited budget, so walking is about all i can do at the moment.

5.5 miles in 50:50 minutes. "Annie" 50-40-30-20-10 double unders & sit ups in 6:20. All after a night of margaritas and I kept all the food I ate.

I don't report in here regularly, but I'm still swimming like a demon, going to the gym here and there, and taking the canoe out when it's decent weather and timing.
Thanks for this!
