I just received a BiPAP machine for my sleep apnea. The RT told me to try it before I go to sleep tonight. Well, after 5mins with it on I have a terrible headache.

I had a headaches after the titration sleep study also but I chalked it up to all the extra headgear.

Does anyone else use a BiPAP machine for sleep apnea? If so do you get headaches and how long does that particular side effect last?

Thank you.

Happy Birthday Rhasody!

I hope these headaches will stop once I am use to the machine. If they persist, I will give my doctor a call.

Thank you for help.

Most likely the headaches are caused by an improper fitting mask and headgear.

I use NasalAire headgear. Some of this brand's products do not have head straps. Some do not touch face. I couldn't stand wearing a mask, pushing on my face. Check out link http://www.innomedinc.com/content/

I have migraines when I don't sleep well. Almost always I have headaches when I do not use my machine.
