Has anyone out there had this fun little ride. I have sleep Apnea, for those of you who don't know what that is, it's a neat little trick played on you where you wake up anywhere fro 60 -120 times an hour due to airway issues ( in my case, there are other variations). Needless to say this makes your "mood" a touch off from where it should be. I have been treated for the Apnea, but developed depreression, anxiety, mood swings, etc before I was fully treated for my Apnea. I have been on most drugs for depression, some for Manic-Depression, Ritalin for ADD, and whatever else comes down the pike. I 've been tortured like this for about 5 years until the Doc I go to now ( 3'rd one's a charm) decided that there is somethime else behind all this crap. We are more agressively treating my Apnea, and VOILA, many of my symptoms have disappeared or at least stabilized where I don't take enough meds to knock down a horse. The point I'm getting to is... has anyone else taken this ride. Like to hear from you.

Yes, I have had sleep apnea for years, but neglected to do anything about it until this past summer. The Dr. who is treating me for the sleep apnea said that it is highly likely that it has either caused my depression or made it worse. He also said that it will take quite a long time for my body to recover from the years of sleep deprivation.

I, too, have sleep apnea. I tried a cpap machine for about a year and could never get used to it. (Want to buy one cheap?) When I used it, I definately slept and felt better. It is a pain in the @ss, however. What has worked best is to loose weight and stop all psycho meds.
