Thanks! I'm finally under 200lbs again... and NEVER want to go back (no reason to...not planning on trying any new meds!)
I want at least 2 lb loss a week. Grrrr

Congratulations, Sky! Keep up the good work!
It's good to feel good about eating healthy. I shop mostly in the produce section; frequently make soup; lots of veggies and fruits are helpful to me. I was sick too, but I've lost 90+ lbs in the last year and am under 200 and also never going back. we rock! |

Hi Sky,
That's great that you lost 4 pounds. It's smart of you for not going too crazy, trying to lose 15 pounds in 3 weeks or something obnoxious like that. It sounds like you're doing it the healthy way. I could learn from your patience. I want to lose all the weight I've gained from quitting smoking-immediately. Congratulations on your weight loss and your wise choice of doing it by the "slowly but surely" plan. ![]() You inspired me to be more patient with myself. |

Thank you all. Yes, the frenzied way...well after a month you've lost nothing but self esteem at the end of it, where if you stick with the pace, one foot after another..or rather one meal after another... then at the end of the week.. a lb or 2,, and at the end of the month 8-10 lbs!
I have eaten well this week...though I did splurge on a milk shake when I became lost in Medley Tuesday. ![]() (It's a matter of saying NO first, and then allowing yourself time to be ok with that.. .like when I eat out and the meal comes with fries or chips... or they ask if I want garlic rolls... I always say NO first. I know if I really do want them later, I can ask for them,but it's rare that I do.)

I have really begun the glycemic loading conciousness now... finally got food into the house that is all good stuff! I really can eat as much as I want, but will work towards portion control as I go along... but all the fruits and vegetables I want doesn't hurt me at all.
I had to go off this way of eating for two weeks, but in the 5 days I began it earnesly again, last Thursday, I weighed yesterday at the PT's I had lost another 4 lbs. ![]() I eat NO white food (bleached flour, enriched breads, sugar, etc) though I can have white fish and cauliflower ![]() I recently learned (though I've always been a big advocate of high fiber foods) that if I eat something high fiber 8 hours before I know I will be hungry, that will curb my hunger (has to do with the intestine's control of hunger.) SO since I get the hungries at night, I will add in extra high fiber in my lunch - after-lunch snacks. I eat every two hours... SOMETHING... and am now not allowing myself to feel hungry ever! AND I drink lots of cold water... as the hunger notifier is also the part that senses a need for water, and sends out the same "hunger" signal ![]() I wish some others would join me on this ![]() I have 23 lbs more to get rid of I think ![]()
