I don't suppose you are ADD by any chance? I've done the same thing since I was a kid. Psych meds seemed to make it worse and lord knows age hasn't helped. Once they put me on meds for my ADD it has gotten better. Apparently my brain just moves faster than my mouth. By the time I speak it's on to the next thing and what I wanted to say is just gone.

Well I'm 39 so I've pretty much gotten used to it. I've learned to laugh it off so usually I make a joke about it like "wellllll that thought train derailed, I'll get back with you in a day or so when it's back on the tracks."

The hardest part was accepting it's part of me, it's going to happen but it doesn't make me less intelligent or anything of the sort. It's just me and I'm ok with me.

Be gentle with yourself. Yes it's frustrating but the only thing you can really change is how you react to it. Maybe if they find you are ADD and medicate appropriately it will get better too.

There are many things that can cause memory problems. Everything from emotional state to MI to drugs. If psych drugs cause brain shrinkage then a lot of us here have very tiny brains from being on them for decades.

Do tell your doc about your issues. He can tell you more about your condition than we can.

Every time you get a new doc you should mention everything. I learned that the hard way after my doc told me that what I was describing was impossible. Three moves and three docs later he asked if I had ever and was totally unimpressed when I said yeah for years. Turns out it was a real gut problem that was fixable. Can't hurt to mention it and may help in the long run.
