I understand what you are going through. How I look at it is the diagnosis is just a label for insurance to pay a bill. What really matters is that you are getting treatment that works. I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion! I think the depression, anxiety, psychosis, and panic can all fit in with the Bipolar diagnosis. You can have depression, anxiety, and psychosis with bipolar disorder. Also if you spend much time in the depressive part of the bipolar the cronic fatigue and even possibly the fibro. could be related to that as well. (I know depression makes fibro. symptoms worse) The PTSD could also be causing the anxiety and panic. (At least in my case it does) I don't know much about lupus or parkinsons. I know some about MS due to they thought my husband had it. Hope this helps and also welcome.

is it that there are so many diagnoses to live with, or is it that there are many experiences for you to cope with?

Maybe it would be mostly helpful to find ways to cope with the experiences that you live with?

One way to find out about lupus and parkinsons (and all the others), is to keep reading about them. Keep informing yourself.

Hi 26west.

I have many of the same dx's that you do and some you don't. The whole point of it is that our bodies have turned on themselves. We are both suffering auto-immune disorders and as time goes on, the Drs may tell both of us that more things are happening to us.

The best thing I can advise is a low carb diet. You'll feel like you have the flu for a couple days while your body adjusts, and after that you'll have much more energy. Take time now to exercise and try to keep your body in as good a shape as possible so that you can be stronger if something else happens.

Have you had your eyes checked lately? That's very important, too.

I wish you the very best. I know it's hard to live with so many problems, but you can do it and still have good days.

January

I think, also, that many of those individual dx's are incorporated into one or two of the major dx's. People with chronic illness nearly always have depression. PTSD often has anxiety and panic disorder. And of course the chronic fatigue is part of each: MS, Fibro, or SLE. The psychiatric disorders could be from different doctors, rather than 2 or 3 they gave you... just what each saw at the time? (And the depression could be part of the Bipolar Disorder.)

I'm glad I really don't go with labeling lol. What the labels have done to you is exactly why.

Just use the labels for researching things that might help you feel better, and for the ins co to pay your doctors, and toss them away after that!

Why not give the list to your current doctors and let them weed out some of the dx's for you?
