After drinking too much last weekend I experienced vertigo for the first time in my life. What worries me is that, four days later, I'm still experiencing it - especially in the morning.
I thought perhaps I had had a stroke or seizure but it sounds more like benign positional vertigo. I'm doing the recommended exercises I found at various sites for home treatment of "BPV" and I've added gingko to my supplements yet there's been little improvement. This sensation is so unpleasant - room spinning, elevator falling nausea - I hope I get the message and never drink again. My only medication is inderal LA. I stopped taking cymbalta about a month ago. I see the doc next month if not sooner. Any suggestions are welcome. |

welcome woeful, to psychcentral.
I deal with vertigo flares from time to time, due to my meniere's. It is not fun. On a day to day basis, I have to be careful of not turning quickly, changing head positions quickly, left right, up down.... I don't lean down or "look under" anything! LOL It could be an allergic reaction .. did you drink some alcohol that was different from the past drinks? Does your prescribed mediation allow for alcohol to be ingested while taking it?
