This, omg my mom says this. Like "But you're still you though." but my gender is still part of who I am. And I'd like that to be recognized.

Don't you know what those things mean? Why don't you just tell me? Why should I have to look it up?

So what bathroom do you use?
So how do you have sex?
So can you gay or straight if you aren't a boy or a girl?
I'm sure you'll be one or the other when you get older.
I'm sure a relationship will fix you.
You need help.
You're just sick, a therapist can help.

Wow, as a cis person who considers herself an ally, I had no idea that people said such ridiculous things to trans individuals! I am so sorry that you all had to deal with such ignorance and insensitivity. You all have my support, 100%.

You'd be surprised at what people will say. Thank you for being a supportive and understanding cis ally. uwu it's nice to see someone who doesn't immediately get all offended and say "NOT ALL CIS PEOPLE".

He/she
When talking to/about a nonbinary person or messing up a binary trans* person's pronouns. It's not only hurtful because they are wrong, but every time you hear your assigned pronouns it's like a punch in the gut and a reminder that those around you don't see you for the gender you are and possibly never will.

Said to my best friend by his mom "We adopted a girl. Don't make me return you! Why are you doing this to me? Either be normal or go to hell and rot!

Like he's something she bought that didn't fit and that this is something he's doing on purpose to hurt her?!? All I could do was just get him out of there and let him stay with us while he was in town. No one should have to listen to hate like that. Not EVER!

That is disgusting! No parent should ever treat their child that way! I'm glad you got him out of that situation. I hope he's okay.

After his dad threatened his life if he told his grandma he cut off all contact with them. The good news is a year later his birth mom got in contact with him. She and her family love and accept him for who he is. I've gotten to meet her 3 times and she's an absolutely wonderful lady.

Gender and orientation are connected.

Said to me by my mother when I tried to explain that my genderqueer identity and asexuality are not related. I'm asexual because I don't feel sexual attraction. I'm genderqueer because that's how I feel about myself. UGH.

"You were born a girl so you will always be a girl"
- my mom after i explained her I am trans non-binary for like the 10th time? Again she didn't care
And
"You just say that because you dont wear makeup"
- my dad
It's like they just wont listen to themselves while they say this type of stuff lol
Its like my dysphoria is some sort of joke to them
Probably my biggest mistake was "coming out" to them

I'm so sorry you all have had to put up with this! I'm newly gender fluid and not many people know so I haven't had do deal with the brunt of it yet. Not looking forward to it either.
