We all have many sides.. that's what makes us human. When we here suffer, it tends to draw out aspects of a particular "side" of us... sometimes not too pretty, sometimes rash, but sometimes it's also a good thing. We are all human. It makes us sad when we see another suffer especially someone who has been so helpful in the past. You willnot be able to deny that! You have given support to many here. Please take our support as best you can while you're hurting, Ryan. I care very much.

Well.. actually.. I have tried (to no avail) to have Dr. John remove my name from the active roster and he just ignores my request. I know the man is busy, but this is a request that needs to be addressed. I found the site, read the site and have found a few things on it that I don't think are very appropriate for ME.. apparently Ryan feels the same but has just taken a different approach. Anyone who signs up should be able to "unsubscribe".. Dr. John???

That is very true, there was acouple of times that I wanted to leave the forum but couldn't because no one would clear my name. I guess it's really your own choose whether to stay or leave? Just time goes quick then stop posting.

What's the big deal? Oops sorry... I mean, you can delete having any emails from this site, you can lock and not accept PMs so you don't leave anyone in the lurch waiting.. and then you can remove the site from your bookmarks/favorites, so what is the problem?

To someone like me, my background, when someone actively publicly requests to be deleted, it is a cry for help of some kind. It could be for attention, but I think it goes deeper than that. When a member asks this, maybe it's because they need more... and want more from the site? I wish those who feel this isn't the place for them anymore, then why not post what they find unsuitable for them or better yet: post what the site is lacking or what more they need. That would help us as members to accomodate those in need.

Maybe it's a control issue. I don't know. But when we surf the net and reply at places or leave our email addresses.. we leave traces of our virtual selves all over! Would you also be going back to all those site asking for deletion of evidence you were there? That sounds absurd to me.

I'm not angry.. not upset... just wondering what the bigger issue is to those who wish us to know they want to leave. If there's some way we can "help" these members in a way we aren't.. .I'd like to know. (Inquiring minds want to know!

I don't know you very well, so I suppose seeing another side to you is not that big of a deal to me. I always appreciated the posts of yours I got to read. And I'll always have fondness for a fellow Pistons fan.

Forgive me for talking about me here, but I feel like I can relate. Feel free to tell me I'm off the mark if so. I've recently discovered another side to me I've been calling "the screaming banshee." Those who know me well have been a bit shocked at the vulgarities she spews when she's angry. A tiny part of me is ashamed at this behavior because I was always brought up to be the "good girl." But a bigger part of me thinks this is just another side to who I really am. This means I'm being more of my true self...more authentic. Isn't that a good thing? Especially when those you love and who love you back accept all sides of you.

I wish you well. You sound upset, and I wish I could help with that.

Ryan, short of physical injury, there is NOTHING you can do to make me stop having faith in you and stop me from caring!

Of course, there's a dark side to everyone, but STILL, this isn't you. It's your illness speaking! You know what you have to do to get it under control. There's no way I can get you the help you need because of distance. All I can do is stand firm in my belief that you'll eventually do what you need to do to get yourself out of this dark hole.

Sky, you are right it is not a big deal.. for you. It wasn't a big deal.. for me.. apparently Ryan feels STRONGLY about this and so it IS a big deal for him.

I can understand wanting a choice and wanting that choice to be honored!
