Ozzie has resigned as an administrator

Ozzie, I will miss you, I really hope she does come back, but hope she doesn't see how some are getting snippy about this, we all have emotional reactions

Sorry DocJohn, we really appreciate you running this site, but we worry about ozzie's statement that the site "lacks honor"

Zorah...Ozzie's statement seems to have been made in an emotionally charged state. Perhaps when the emotions settle she'd state that differently? Who knows. I feel quite strongly against that statement of hers.

I can tell you that I've been a user on John's sites since 1999, and have never seen him act dishonorably. He's human, he has feelings, issues, etc., just like the rest of us. I love that about him. Some admins act like mysterious blank slates.

It's probably a good idea for you to get to know John youself by reading his posts and going to his chat, rather than listening to anyone else's thoughts on him...including mine!

Why take these feelings into the "real" world, when they are so connnected to here! We bring our IRL feelings and thoughts TO psychcentral, how much more to do so when it's something because we are here.

Also, I would find it very difficult to believe that Ozzie isn't reading here. She read each and every post and responded over 10,000 times. No one, having done that, can just "quit".. especially when she did read and respond because, imo, her heart was in it. She cares about us here, even though she isn't here now to share that. <font color="blue">

I'm twixt between issues, personally, as I have been caught up in some issues that didn't seem to be fair, and issues that certainly weren't allowed to be worked through. When having to go through moderators, and administrator(s) separately, well... we all know about the "gossip" game, don't we? We can never be sure of communicating exactly what someone else's intent is. I would like to have seen open discussion in a directed chat on the previous issues. And, imo, it would have been good to discuss our heartbreak in a directed chat, even Tuesday night. I don't know if this kind of "intervention" and caring will ever be available here... but we can continue to wish.

I have been a member not quite 2 years. But I was on another site, as other members have, previous to this one where DocJohn was involved. Speaking in general, imo, DocJohn's intentions are good. But so are / were Ozzie's. Maybe the two of them can agree to disagree even at this time.<font color="pink">[b]

Our focus here needs to be on how WE - each one of us - are coping. Me? I reread some of her PMs she sent to me, as I have a few I've kept over time. We aren't allowed to post what we have received, and it would be kewl to take excerpts of the positive wishes she gave, but it helps to know her words are still here in a way... safeguarded by many of the members... and held in all our hearts. Maybe, in a future post, you can also recall something Ozzie would say.. and quote that? Like, I think Ozzie would say "...." and thus we can perpectuate her good wishes to all!

Yes, that was sizable... but even this thread, which she began, still exists with our original comments... I hope we can each find her words (in our hearts) that are missing from our own threads. TC

As far as I can see the only thing missing from any of my printouts from threads that I have started or posted to Ozzie only removed her posts not complete threads.

I know in one of the technical posts it says something about server outage. In the past on other websites when the server went out or the administrator chose new server/ web hosts/domains whatever its called in the process of moving the domain posts and threads have been lost.

Could it be that during one of these outages here peoples personal threads and posts were lost but because they did not look for their posts and threads after the outage they did not realize they were gone until after they realized that Ozzie took her own posts.

To safe guard my threads and posts from losing them I always print out my posts and threads at the time I post them and then again when people reply to them. This way I have them for later reference.

I had the authority to delete my posts as admin. I don't have the authority to hit the magic button now. I've requested that it be done but the request has been denied. I'm very sorry for "vandalizing" the place and wanted very much for the posts to be restored after seeing how much it upset everyone.

Yes, unfortunately, this is a very complicated piece of software where there is no "undo" button for the deletion of thousands of posts. So your request wasn't "denied," but rather may be very difficult, if not impossible, to do (well, unless I wanted to spend about 40 hours of my time trying to do it).

Not everything can turn back in time.
Sort of like hurting oneself or taking one's life...you think @ the time it is justified or the only way...but you cannot undo it. You can not reverse it...
We must learn here...
