Just thought I'd say "hi" to everyone and see if anyone would like to share their resolutions with us, geesh, I have many this year, I hope they will come to fruition

It's a good time for taking a look at our lives and what we're doing and seeing what we might want to do differently. I like the word "goal" better then "resolution" because with goals we can measure our progress and be happy that we are getting better, instead of feeling bad the first time we make a mistake and maybe giving up. It's probably mostly just a difference in terminology though.

Some things I want to work on include:

- keeping up with my e-mail and not letting it pile up in folders that I never look at. I'm doing good so far, 'cause now I'm checking my mail on the server's webmail system instead of using my mail program with all the folders that sort things into the convenient piles of 3000 messages I never read. If I can't keep up after school starts again I will have to unsubscribe from some lists.

- give myself deadlines for projects that don't come with due dates, so that I work on them and don't just blow them off.

- I really like Tomi's suggestion to find the positives even in problems too.

So basically I guess I want to be more organized and have a better attitude.

Love your replies I stopped making them on new years, and goals I agree is a better way of putting it. Whenever I did the NY resolution thing, 9 out of 10 times I failed, and have learned not to tell anyone if I had made any, cause then when you aren't accomplishing them you do not have to hear reminders from anyone, ha!ha! Plus, then I also put additional pressure on myself. I think anytime of year is a goodtime to try to begin something that may benefit our physical and mental well being, everyday is a "new" day
Okay, the rest of you out there let us know what your feelings are on this topic, it would be interesting and helpful to others, I am sure

1. I will make exercising at least 3 times a week and losing a stone my first goal for this year (I remember thinking of this one before, but now I have written it down I will just HAVE to do it New Year's resolutions, anyone? ...)

2. Find a good T and do the work (because I am worth it ?? New Year's resolutions, anyone? ?? ...)

3. Work on my "boundaries" (this includes not reading stuff that I know triggers me, and that I find unproductive and predictable ... and not feeling hurt when people I don't like don't seem to like me either New Year's resolutions, anyone? ...)

I know better than to make resolutions. I do set goals though. One thing I'd like to have happen is to find a mate. The other is to exercise more and lose some weight.

. . . to get off my butt and do stuff, go outside, exercise . . . anything.

that would take me working through the fear and depression and low self-worth to accomplish this resolution.
