I barely get any good sleep now, and last night during my few hours of sleep, I was awoken by a nightmare! I normally get them very often, but the past few weeks I haven't been having them at all. This one was about a person I'm close to becoming violent and mean against me, which I know he would never do. I literally woke up shaking and with so much anxiety.

Then to top it off, it's after 3 am, and my brother is doing things to make his girlfriend scream! LOL but not in a dirty way, but like he will throw bugs at her or something and she will SCREAM like she's being murdered. Such mature 19 year olds! Anyway, it's after 3 am and I just woke up from a nightmare and I hear her screaming like that, it did not calm my fears.

I did manage to fall back asleep (amazing) but I woke up way too early again anyway. I still have the images of the nightmare in my head. I know it would never happen in real life, but it's amazing how real dreams can feel sometimes.

I wonder if you could have heard them playing and her screaming while you slept, and that shaped the topic of your dream, rather than anything you think/feel about the actual person who got violent in your dream? (Did that sentence even make sense?)

Nightmares suck. I hope you get a better night's rest tonight. Nightmares

Yes, that makes sense. The guy is someone who has been on my mind A LOT recently, so dreaming about him isn't that strange, and then her screaming may have just turned it into a nightmare. Thanks!
