How can one tell their intuition predicting something horrible happening... versus those being just irrational fears that result from being too involved, working too hard... and being a worrier in general?
I don't want to fight what might be an intuition... because if it is, I need to live with it somehow... and make some steps. How can one evaluate such situation? (yeah, i know I am vague. hope i still can get some answers).

Hello venusss: Well... I don't know. I think one just goes with one's intuition up to the point where one cannot turn back if it turns out to be inaccurate. Then one can re-evaluate & see if one's intuition still appears to be accurate in light of whatever additional information has become available.
I liken it to the weather. I have a dog that I walk every day regardless of the weather. I always listen to the weather reports to see what the forecast is for the coming day in an effort to work around, as much as possible, any rain or snow events that might be coming in. I know that the weather forecasts are notoriously inaccurate. But they're the only guide I have. So I listen to them, gauge them against my own previous experience, look out the window periodically, & come to some conclusion with regard to when the best time is to take the dog for his walk. By-&-large, it tends to work out fairly well for us. Occasionally we get caught in a downpour... Personally, I don't trust my intuition. Over the years, it has led me astray so many times I finally beat it to death! ![]() ![]()

You can make a list of evidence that support the fear v. a list of evidence that does not support the fear. Then you can decide if the evidence support or does not support the fear. Then you can act based on your conclusion. I hope this helps. |

Your intuition is a possibility of something that can happen. It never hurts to hear yourself out and think things through. If you can use those thoughts to protect yourself or some other way that helps, good. But, you should also listen to your logical voice.
Say your intuition is that you think you know the Lottery numbers. Well, I'd buy some Lottery tickets, but not with more money than I was prepared to lose.

I don't trust my intuition so I always know when I should have done something different. Still my hunches to me feels very different than plain worrying. My worrying is long lived and often over something real. My hunches come in flashes of seeing the world further ahead in time.

Venuss would it be possible to get some sleep/rest and see how you feel then? Speaking for myself, when I'm tired and stressed it is easy to slip into thinking the world is coming to an end so to speak.

I look back at my life and wish if only I had istened to my intuition.

Thank you, everybody.
I will definitelly try to relax, since I have the chance and see if i see the world less gloomy. Evidence is kinda hard to obtain here either to support or discard my fears.

I think intuition and fears are completely different things. Intuition is to arrive at answer without deploying the reason faculties, which can be deployed otherwise.
I think most of what's happened in the world is a historical accident. People think they can control the outcome of history, but they cannot. |
