I'm having a hard time today. I've felt like crying most of the day and now my pdoc wants me to go back to work. Now I can't seem to stop crying. I definitely am not ready.

I'm not sure what to do now. I don't know who to call either, my pdoc or my new therapist. I'm lost.

(I put a pretty detailed post in the bipolar forum, but I'm wondering if I should have posted it here instead. I'm new here and still unsure about what goes where.)

Hello,

Welcome to PC. If your Pdoc wants you to go back to work, you need to call him/her. It also can't hurt to call your pdoc.

Be honest and upfront about what you're feeling and tell him/her that you're not ready.

I wish you the very best,

January

You must be feeling really anxious over this situation! Communication is of utmost importance, imo. If you haven't already, you need to discuss this at length with your PDoc. Sometimes they aren't really aware of all that is going on with their patients, as they observe medication outcomes and try to move patients back into society if they have no reason not too.

I would surely share your anxiety and concerns with your new therapist too. Your T just might be able to have some quick help for you, but having another person in your "corner" is reassuring too.

Just because the pdoc says you should try to work doesn't mean you absolutely have to. You might need to prove that you can't work by trying, you know? If you can try, that would show you're willing to work towards that goal, but doesn't mean you can work. Nothing is etched in steel here on this...so breathe...do your best... and talk to the doctors more about what is really going on inside you, ok? TC!

Hello Tortues, I hope today is looking a little brighter for you. I am sorry you are struggling with this. I agree with the others—talking with your pdoc might be the best thing to do…and don’t worry about posting in the wrong forum—post where you feel comfortable. I think we all have our own interpretations of what goes where. I am glad you posted here in general because I don’t go to the bipolar forum and I would have missed you. Let us know how it goes.
