Been Meaning to Do This

The fund-raising drive for me was so appreciated. My rent, $425, was paid and my city utilities (electricity, water, sewer and garbage) $135 paid ($560) I also received one individual check from a PC friend.

Every PM and every hug that I received was received gratefully.

I live on SS and the 102 hours I work monthly.I had saved $ and had it in the checking acct that I was getting ready to use for truck repairs.

I am donating two photographs for a silent auction for the Humane Society and these are donated in Psych Central's name. This is earmarked to spay/neuter two feral kittens that I caught. I have asked that the cats be named "PsychoCat" and "CentralKitty".....

Due to the generosity of PC, I didn't sink when the bank account was cleared out.

I filed charges, as you know, and a multi-county warrant has been issued now, as it was re-filed as credit card fraud.

If the perpetrator gets stopped for anything now,anywhere, that warrant will pop up. I have no idea where he is living. He is not living at the address where he was at. I've been there and talked to his roommate. He hasn't seen him either.

Everytime I think about how close some of us can be, from a 0 balance, I am once again thankful for PC stepping in and helping me.

I was just thinking about you a little while ago, planning on PMing you. Love the kitties' names! (My sister recently adopted a kitten that was dropped off near her home, barely old enough to be weaned. He's fitting in quite well! )

due to me being away for a while I actually had no idea that you were having problems. Im so glad PC was able to help in your time of need. Sorry to hear you were having problems and I hope they catch the guy really soon.

I am so glad that PC is set up to help situations like yours. That is a horrible situation to end up in....& your situation has put me on "Beware" in my new home in Kentucky. I am taking all the possible precautions to protect even my account at the local lumberyard. People sound like they are being kind to offer to take care of paying my bill while I was busy.....but a red flag comes up often. Your situation is a good learning tool for me, moving into a completely new area where I don't know anyone.

Of course, I have the ID theft & everything that happened with my Mother flashing in my mind all the time, reminding me that I have to keep aware also.

That is awsome that you are donating the photos to the silent auction....& those are definitely cute names for the kitty's......I have to admit, the names do give me an rather funny image of what the kitties look like (hair sticking straight up between the ears & around the face.....with bulging eyes like they just saw a gigantic mouse or something....lol.

I pray that the guy gets caught for doing what he did.....I hate it when these people get away with things like that....just like the home care person got away with everything she did to my Mother & didn't even have to answer to the Adult protective services or the police.....just got away with it all including the credit card charges. I know what I would like to do to people like that!!!!!!!!

I respect the way you handled the situation you were. It gives us all a great example to follow if we ever find ourselves in a similar situation. Sadly also, your experience is a wake up call to all of us that things like this can happen to any of us at any time.

I'm always awed that out of such an experience...what people are able to do to help...prayer, money, or words of encouragement...

angie, i know that i didn't have to tell where the money went. when it was questioned, i stepped forward.

Maybe the person wasnt actually questioning your integrity? Maybe they were just asking. It doesnt sound like a rude thing to do. If it was me and you put me on ignore for asking I would be angry about that. Going against the tide isnt always bad. It sorta looks to me like who ever asked is being publically flogged and sorta bullied. Just my opinion though

I agree. The point of the original post was to answer a question. It isn't ok to publicly "flog" anyone. The ignore feature is used for a reason, so if PM's cannot be received because of that, than the issue cannot be addressed, because it is not appropriate to discuss on the public board if there is an argument in progres.

Please keep discussion in this thread limited to the original post and not about vague ideas about other members.

Pat - I'm so glad that you are safe and everything is working out okay. You're right, it is a wake up call. I don't have money saved and I've often thought of what I would do if something happened to me.

My favorite movie is Pay it Forward - if you haven't seen it everyone should. It is so awe inspiring and the premise is that for every good thing you do for someone, they do it for someone else and it just multiplies.

Everyone pulled together for you and now you are paying it forward in a different way - it all works out and it keeps on rolling - how beautiful is that!

I dont need to PM you. You inferred that you had put a person on ignore because they had asked you about what you had done with your money. You said that they had questioned your integrity. (I should explain that I personally dont mind what you did with your money) I simply answered to say that perhaps they were just asking a question. You can see from my post what i said

That said. Can i just say that an issue is either a pm issue or its public. Its not right to pick and chose how you want to play it. There is no point making a post to me that seems a little short then asking me to PM you a reply.

I really hope this thread gets deleted.
