Hello people,
I am opening an additional thread, as I work on being more objective about the case, while working on developing theories based on personal views, and the idea that personal views are extremely valuable because together an image can be created, an image to help mankind progress beyond the struggles. See, the mental health field is one tool to help with that - it helps patients cope with life despite struggles created. But as we progress, new problems are arising. One of the problems I have come to notice, is the idea that people can negatively influence mental health and nothing is done about it... yet. The issue is very serious, to a point where action must be taken if we are to survive and most importantly - feel satisfied about life and living it The mental health field is very young, therefore it has much to learn and grow from. I will present the idea I have presented allot - "If mental health is the same as physical health and physical health can be harmed, then so can mental health be harmed". Some people have propose obstacles - "Treating the mental health offender will not help the one offended", "There is no way to track this" Well, none of them are true. Treating the mental health offender brings a sense of peace and justice done. We do not want to live a life where criminals are let go. We want to live a life where evil is put to justice. As for "no way to track" - it's a matter of discussion but I believe there is a way. Let us discuss |

Can anyone tell me why does one find no interest in discussing this?
I feel this is a very important topic to discuss, especially in regard to the sensitivity in accommodation to the strong-paced movement of the world due to globalism. Due to the delicacy of mental health, as we know how delicate mental health can be, it is of vital important to make sure our environment is equipped with being able to handle the reality, where people for whatever reasons, can cause havoc on some people's mental health, and that is not to be allowed. Why would one have to live a life, where they are to be subject to harm and have nothing done about it? How can one truly feel safe? I can tell you, there are people who seriously require behavioral regulations and preventions I had an image in my head, of an international social network, where people who are potentially mentally abusive are banned. Objectively speaking it could be a reservation for people of a high social status. However, I would not mind being a part of such community and safety network. We all deserve to take part in a place where we can feel and be safe. Now I am just throwing in ideas. Nothing has to be fully concrete. But the idea that mental health is as physical health has to be ingrained in this concept - that mental health has to be protected and enforced. Whether you like it or not, eventually it's the same with physical health - violence is prohibited, and while it was once unexpected to be prohibited, now it is, and I expect the same to be for mental health. It's for the future's sake. We wouldn't want to live a life where we have to worry about people who could potentially destroy our mental health Last edited by Anonymous50987; Jun 04, 2018 at 06:38 PM. Sorry this is just to deep for me to handle right now. I do not have the mental energy. I swear I had to read some of your sentences 3 times to even understand.

Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |

I don't usually come to this forum, but am extra bored tonight, so here I am to play deep discussion time with you. :L
It first needs to start with better mental health awareness. We still live in a world where too many people see mental health completely differently than physical health. "It's just an excuse", "just get over it", "you're being dramatic", etc. Until mental health is seen for what it is, debilitating, it won't be taken seriously enough to have much done about it, and definitely not "banning" people from socializing with the rest of society like you would on a forum or something. That said, at least here in the US, there are some efforts to stop mental abuse popping up here and there. School shootings are forcing people to recognize mental illness as something very real, but in a horrible way. The people who abuse the shooters are just as guilty as the ones pulling the trigger in my mind. Still, not enough is being done about it. People only seem to really care when abuse becomes physical as well, but I'd argue the emotional scars hurt much worse. It's why I hate the saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". It's so wrong, but so many people believe just that - that words should never hurt you and you're meant to just brush them off and you're weak if you let them hurt you. If only it were that easy... As for a safe-space network and banning people from such a thing, is that not what jail is for currently? Right now not enough people care to send a non-physical abuser to jail, though of course I'd agree that's perfectly reasonable. I sense you're proposing something more wild though - something you'd read in a novel about a utopia perhaps. Keep the good within this utopia and kick the bads out. It's an interesting theory, but practically I don't think something of that sort of extreme would ever work. There's too many corrupt people on power for one who either don't care or are abusers themselves, then you'd have complications of possibly banning innocent people to this horrible non-utopian world, and maybe even going too far in deciding if something was ban-able. Too many bads and they could form their own society and fight the goods, so yet another reason to war. I could probably think of more reasons why it's not practical if it wasn't 2:30am, but hopefully you get the picture. Also note that I missed part 1 of the discussion entirely so I apologize if I'm just repeating what some might have already said. It's too late in the day for me to go reading long threads with deep thinking required. This is my last post for the night. :p Wore me out. tl;dr? More needs to be done about abuse in any form.

Isn't what you're proposing as a utopia what is happening in life? We no longer allow murderers to get away with murder, or thieves to be let go like mental abusers are.
The time has come to realize that mental health abuse is a serious threat to society if not taken care of quickly enough. People who mentally abuse do not deseve to be let go, just like a criminal would not be let go Yes, kicking out abusers from society is important for every society. There's nothing about "utopia" or "dystopia" about it. It's called "balancing", it's meant to make the future generations both feel and be safe |

Murderers and thieves do get away with it from time to time, and even if they don't they don't always end up being taken out of society for their entire lives, especially people committing minor crimes like theft will end up back in society and either commit more crimes or straighten up. That's the reality of it unfortunately.
The same would be true in a mental abuse case. The most extreme abusers may get life in prison, but anything less than the most extreme would end up back on the streets eventually. When you say you want to kick them out of society either I'm misunderstanding you or you're talking about something more extreme than what we have now and it doesn't seem realistic, though I'm not necessarily saying it's bad either. I'm all for punishing metal abusers, but I'm trying to point out that something too extreme is just not going to fly in reality. That's why I mentioned a utopia, because something of that level reminds me of a book I read about a utopia and in it they were very extreme towards crime.

Not true. Punishment can prevent them from working specific jobs, or perhaps even most jobs available on the market. And that's just an example. |

This topic is not an easy one. And by the way, it doesn't necessarily have to be a "police", so to speak
The problem as I stated, is that therapy, while potentially making people feel better, does not answer for one-sided moralities. In my personal experience, therapy has given a very one-sided view on morality - "Thou shalt not harm", but nothing about "They shalt not harm". From what I heard, sometimes therapists tell one to "deal with it", of course in a more gentle manner, but still, the same message context By the way, a disclaimer - I am not saying therapy or any form of mental health treatment is bad. I am but merely saying my personal experience, and pointing out potential flaws I see in those forms of treatment - that they are not addressing potential causes well enough for people to be truly healthy Last edited by Anonymous50987; Jun 06, 2018 at 04:43 PM. |

Basically, my confusion comes down to this sentence:
"I had an image in my head, of an international social network, where people who are potentially mentally abusive are banned." Who decides who is mentally abusive? What do you mean by banned...banned from what, and put where? |

And banned from as I said as an option, the social network. And you do realize in order for that potential idea to work I can't do this alone, right? I need like-minded individuals in order to create a more constructive and sophisticated idea |
