do they still use pedilite (sp?). It's a drink that replaces electrolites/nutrients to avoid dehydration. Dr. recommended in place of formula to reduce mucus production. Used it a lot with my youngest son (a premie).

so sorry you all are having such a troubled time.

OK, we're back from the Ped. He said we're to watch his breath and cough closely, but for now lungs seem clear, if "tight".

He has an upper respiratory infection, ear infection and is on the better end of croup, but still a bit croupy.

He will take the nose drops, saline spray, tylenol and amoxicillan. He was too breathy, hoarse and week to even cry really hard at the Ped's office.

He heard me holding and coo'ing him while he was talking to mommy and said, "forget schedules and do lots of what she's doing...TLC...for the next couple of days." I said, "Oh, that will be easy enough." LOL.

Now, I need to get out there and give him that TLC cause it's his mommy's turn to get to urgent care because she has the same thing, but her chest is REALLY tight.

Love ya's and thank you!

KD

Thank you so much everyone.

He's taking his antibiotics and he's not improved a whole lot symptom-wise. HOWEVER, THE FEVER BROKE AND HAS STAYED GONE. YAYAYAY.

Right now he's laying down sleeping peacefully, but it's been a rough day.

When a three-month-old is as "full" as he is, it interrupts every aspect of his life/survival. He's still not feeding well, but staying hydrated. We're offering baba's every hour on the hour. Diapers stay wet, though barely.

Tonight he choked pretty badly. My baby girl freaked. Some of the phlegm was loosening and he choked...badly. She screamed for me and I got ahold of him. Within a few seconds I had him up and the phlegm out. For that reason, we're watching him around the clock.

He's slowly feeling better. Tonight though (I got up at 1:45 to start my "shift") his bronchial tract is really tight. You can hear it "built up" in there. I hope that tomorrow alot of it loosens for him.

I'm getting ready to get him up...elevated against me...to continue sleeping. What comforts him the most is a low voiced, soft "talk"...he responds immediately.

My daughter is pretty sick with bronchitis from this and I'm hoping the antibiotics work pretty quickly with her.

I think tomorrow's going to be the big "turn around" day. I pray so...

Love and thanks,

KD

Kimmy, had the baby's doctor suggested a cool vaporizer? My oldest son grew up with asthma. The steam vaporizers, however, made it worse. What I used to do was take my boy for a drive on the beach... until the cool vaporizers came in. It sure helped him alot! It keeps the phlem from drying out and keeps it soft so it can be coughed up easier.

Poor baby boy, but he's got a great grandma! Freaking

Ya'll are in my prayers.

Thank you so much ((((((((( sept ))))))))))))

Yes, we bought a new one just for him and it's being used around the clock in whichever room he's in.

I let him get up for a while and though he didn't want to, he needed to cry a little bit and get some of that up and out of there. I felt bad, but kept the goal in mind.

Sure enough, he coughed quite a bit loose and I was able to aspirate his nose and got alot as well. He's sleeping really good now and sounds much better.

Thank goodness their memories are only 10 seconds at this age, because I HATE doing things I know make him feel bad.

Thanks again,

KD

Don't forget to do some care for 'self.' Freaking

Thank you!!!!

An amazing turn around! I posted about getting alot up and out, right?

Since then it's not hardly building back up! He's turning it around!

He's been smiling and talking today like normal! His little voice is hoarse, but our baby's BACK!!! Thank God for antibiotics!

We're over the hump. I pray daughter's is working on her by tomorrow and we'll all have had it and be over with it!

I can't thank you enough for your thoughts and prayers!
