I'm trying hard not to beat myself up for being an idiot, but I'm having a tough time and need some help from you all.

I am up at 2 a.m. because I am just a few minutes back from the ER, where I got 5 stitches in the bottom of my right foot because I was a frigging idiot and stepped on a glass.

Mind you, only I could do this -- because the glass was wrapped in paper and inside of a plastic bag. It fell on the floor and I didn't see it.

It was a couple minutes before I realized I had done more than step on a hanger or something, by which time I had walked through my living room, which now looks like a murder was committed here, since I am on blood thinners. I sat here for a few hours putting pressure on it and still couldn't stop the bleeding, so off to the ER I went.

The ER doc was very kind and tried to tell me that I didn't do it on purpose and shouldn't be beating myself up, but I am.

Probably this is my punishment for skipping my T appointment yesterday?

Somebody just tell me I'm not a moron, whether you think so or not. Maybe I'll believe it with enough outside help.

Now, if you were to tell me you realized there was a glass in there and you stepped on it anyway,,,then I just might think you were a moron.

Look hon....like Sky said, things happen to us human beans. There is no reason to believe it was as a punishment to you for skipping your T session.

I was walking in the kitchen and an unfortunate thing happened, I stepped on a piece of glass that had fallen on the floor that I was unaware of. Stupid GLASS!!!! What nerve it had being there in the way. Good Grief.....my poor foot.

I hope you heal quickly from this unfortunate ACCIDENT candy......take good care of YOU sweety.

Talk about stupid! I was washing a glass once that had a crack in it. Why was I washing it?? It should have gone in the trash... but no, I had to wash it. Guess what? It broke in my hand and nearly sliced my thumb off. Now... THAT was STUPID!! I still have the scar.

YOU are not a moron hon. I'm just so glad you went to the ER and got patched up quickly. Those blood thinners are scary when you get a cut. This could have happened to any of one of us and I'm sure down the road one or more of us will have a story about getting injured.

Its not like you were at a greek wedding barefoot and insisted on breaking the glass.

Remember Jenna's chipped tooth? Now that was somewhat her fault.

But most of all, remember that is was the dumb glasses fault. You didn't put it there wrapped in paper so that you could step on it. You didn't even know it was there & you didn't step on it on purpose.

No part of what happened makes you a moron.....YOU ARE NOT A MORON!!!!!! repeat repeat repeat & repeat again until it sticks in the mind......lol.

I know the feeling however when things happen, I always wonder how I could have been so stupid to let it happen....I am going through that right now with everything that happened to me on my trip home from KY when I stayed in Albuquerque.

I am glad you could get to the ER to have your foot taken care of because blood thinners make cuts very very dangerous.

I hope that is heals quickly & there are no complications or infections that happen....just make sure to do all the needed care to protect yourself from anything more that might happen & that will definitely reinforce that you are NOT a moron.
