Can a Landlord hold your Security Deposit from you if you break a lease, we moved out of one of his buildings because he didn't get the roof fixed for 2 years, we're still in his other building and theres nothing in the lease about him being able to hold deposit.

Why is this one a trigger?

I'm sure it depends upon the state and the wording in your particular lease.

If I were in your shoes, I would contact the state Tenant's Rights board or Fair Housing council. You can try the tenant forum at http://www.tenant.net/ or http://tenant.net/Other_Areas/Penn/harris/pawhere.html

Off-topic question: Is your name "No The Mama" or "Not He Mama" or "No Them Ama"? Or something else? I can't figure it out!

Sounds like a really irresponsible landlord. I'm sure that you can get some help from the Fair Housing board in PA. If you haven't moved out yet, I would recommend that Angie WRITE a letter to the landlord, copying the Fair Housing board; send it via Certified Mail so that you have proof of receipt. Give him/her 15 days to respond to the letter and 30 days to fix the problem. If it isn't fixed within 30 days, then you will have given 1 month's notice as of the date of the letter, and you should be able to safely move out then.

Hi LMo
Prolem hasn't been fixed yet, still working on it.
We found out he has to fix the floor in the ladies room (you can see the basement) behind the toilet, we put new tile down found the wood floor had holes from water and age.
Sent you a pm about name.
As they say on TV stay tuned to this channel for future updates.
