I believe right now is very difficult for folks to obtain employement. The market is an employers market with so few jobs and so many applicants.

There are some websites that will help you learn to "sell" yourself both in your resume and during a face to face interview. I think the trick is to let the prospect employer know exactly why they should hire you and not the next person.

Here are a couple of links for you -

http://www.rockportinstitute.com/resumes.html

http://www.pongoresume.com/

http://www.howtointerview.com/

Hope these help you out chalm...and I wish you good luck in your employment search!

I don't think it's you. When I lost my job I went six months with very few interviews. The ones I did interview at I was certainly qualified for but never received an offer for employment. I was devasted thinking it was something I was doing wrong. One week before my unemployment ran out I found a job.

I am sure you will get a job......just maybe will take more time than you want. I know it took me more time than I wanted.

Wishing you the best in your job search....

Like everyone said, it's hard out there these days. I went 5 1/2 months without a job and finally got one 3 weeks ago. The pay is less than I am used to, but at least I'm working.

You have a lot of good stable job history. Employers like that. Hang in there and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It is a tough time all around for people to find work. Keep up the hope, and keep trying.

One tip I have for you. Try re-writing or tweaking your resume for different jobs. Keep in mind that resumes are usually sorted by people who really don't know what the job is. Those people look for key words, and if the words aren't there, the resume may never get to a decision-maker.

It is also standard practice not to respond, so don't feel bad that you don't hear back from people.

Here's wishing you good job-finding thoughts!!!!

Any kind of a job is better than no job at all. Well, almost any. As long as it is moral and legal. Though sometimes what is immoral is legal but we won`t go there. Yes, it is difficult to find a job. Everyone has a job of dream but far from everyone is able to reach and get it. We consider ourselves satisfied with what we can reach at the time. Life costs money and we have to pay bills, buy food and clothes. There are additional spendings as well such as entertainment, traveling, birthdays of close people and some money, which should be saved for a rainy day. Before starting to look for a job, it is important to make sure your resume looks neat. It will increase your chances to find a job. There is one service, which can help you with that. With cvresumewritingservices.org you will get a good job within short period of time. There are not that many truly customer oriented services and this one is honestly exceptional.
