Sunday we had about 4 inches of snow. Cote had fun running, playing & exploring the edge of the woods. Sunday night we got 1/4" of ice on top of that (our not so little ice storm). Then Monday morning we got another 2 " of snow on top of the ice.

My truck was sitting just outside my garage door & Cote & I always go outside through the kitchen garage door, then I open the garage door for him to run out. Yesterday afternoon he got almost to the garage door & saw my big snow covered truck sitting there. He ran back to my side so quickly & sat there refusing to move & wanted back inside the house. I gave him a few minutes then said.....ok, lets go out. As soon as he realized I was ok & was going out too, he headed for out the garage door.

THEN he stepped on the crunchy snow/ice/snow sandwich & jumped straight in the air. It wasn't the same white fluffy stuff he walked through the day before & all the bushes that had been up in the air were now hanging down to the ground covered in ice. Oh my gosh, his world was nothing like he experienced in his previous 20 mo of life.

One run around the truck to know nothing was going to get him & he was off & playing in the white stuff crunching under his feet, tearing up the snowy ice chunks chasing them around the snow like he does rocks & bricks only these he could really chew on.

He did a bound down the hill to see if he could grab one of the ice covered branches that had fallen out of a tree while mom was going around taking ice photos & videos of my crazy Cote having the time of his life.

About 20 minutes out, mom, even with her down coat, alpaca hat, snow boots & mittens was FREEZING. All I had to say was "lets go inside & warm up" & Cote ran for the kitchen door wanting in. Guess he had enough of the cold too. So much for potty walk though.....too many fun distractions.

I laugh cause he barks at everything that goes by on the road in front of my farm.....except the snow plow. They have been busy on our road keeping it cleared & salted.

Having dogs gets me out to play in the snow too & thar makes snow fun & an experience, not just something to look at & Cote is so entertaining.

An aside story about him....he was getting stressed because my cats get my bedroom & I gated my dogs out. Well, Cote just jumps over the gate so I put obstacles in back of that & he just jumped over them too. So I still keep the gate closed but he can jump in whenever he wants & will sleep next to me while Gabe (kitty) sleeps next to me on my pillow. Giving Cote this freedom, he has become a lot less stressed. Sometimes I find him sleeping on the bedroom floor or even on the floor outside tge gate....but since it is now his choice, he is a lot more calm about everything. It's all in finding what works rather than trying to force something to work when it comes to Aussies.

It's fun being on a FB group of other Aussie owners. It's cool realizing that some of his quirky behaviors are the same as other Aussies. I laugh so hard when he has something he knows he shouldn't have....he comes to me then curls his rear end around & backs up to me. I had no idea this was an Aussie "thing" & not just my crazy boy until others posted about theirs doing it too. He is definitely the most entertaining dog I have ever had. He is velcro yet independent at the same time. Can't imagine life withour him

Thats funny he recognizes the snow plow! But how hilarious about the truck, and the snow texture. He is really one smart boy.

Lol....most times he is too smart for his own good & my sanity. You can almost hear his brain thinking through things like "I know mom will kill me for counter surfing, but she is in the bathroom so I have a couple of minutes to get away with it before getting caught so I'll snag the food & make a run upstairs with it....maybe she won't notice"

I think the animals just create the setting. I have photos of my wild raccoon knocking on my front door & seriously she was saying "hey food lady, you forgot to put out my dinner" critters are so funny & relate to us when we are paying attention to them.

Lol....I have the nickname where I live of "Debbie Doolittle" cause I do talk to the animals. Love to observe animal behavior

Wish I could figure out how to get my video on here of him taking "snow moving" to a whole new level. I need to hire him out for sidewalk & driveway snow removal. It was like he was walking backwards & pawing the snow with his front paws through his back legs (while walking backwards) Then he stopped & pushed the broken up snow with his nose. He has so much fun running & playing in the snow.

He definitely is the most entertaining dog I have ever had

Thank you. He doesn't have all those fancy Aussie colors but I sure think he is definitely a beautiful black & white boy.

I am on the FB aussie page & oh so we share cute & funny stories. Lol....Cote definitely has his own followers on my personal page cause a mom has to tell on her kid somewhere & all the nauty but cute things he does. I never thought there would ever be such a following of a dog breed.....but this breed definitely is a source of hilarious stories.

His brain never stops & he has figured out he can't get caught counter surfing when mom is in the bathroom next to the kitchen. Only thing is I know if he nabbed something cause he makes a run for the stairs through the dining room rather than past the bathroom. Then he runs down the upstairs hall & jumps over my bedroom doggie gate & dives under my bed with whatever he snagged. I am popping up old popcorn for my raccoons & when I was busy with something he managed to grab a bag of tge popcorn. Didn't take me long to figure out what he snagged cause there was a trail of popcorn through my entry hall, up the stairs & the empty bag was found under my bed.

He is the most aggrevating, fun, loving dog I have ever had.

In Feb, we had bad storms here & lightning hit & blew up the telephone land line going into my house & a transformer by the barn across the road. Noise, bright flash & flying burning stuff through the air. He never left my side the rest of that night....both of us protecting each other. The massive storms this last week brought lots of lightning & now he comes to snuggle with me.

I laugh cause he doesn't just lay down next to me on my bed, he actually FLOPPS his 70lb body down on top of me....ugh, my cat Gabe does the same thing but he is less than 10 lbs. Best breed ever though I still miss my eskies
