Well, we got out of the house but that was all. I'm doing this 12 simple steps to healthy eating thing because I like to make changes ultra slow. Otherwise I freak out and end up binge eating. Today I decided to start step 13 which is to avoid unhealthy fats and substitute healthier fats. Unfortunately, this means eally cooking instead of just warming up pre-prepared food. OK, I can do this. Back to learning a simple recipe and using it until it's mine.
Thanks for this!

I have started to enter "X" marks on my exercise and other spreadsheets that are supposed to help me be accountable for what I put into my mouth. Well, the spreadsheets have a few marks, I feel good about those, and I have had just a few sweets and no binging so I am doing well. I am making an effort to not be hard on myself for my shortcomings. I have planned to cook just enough for 4 people without any leftovers if possible, and make 2 vegetable side dishes (mostly for myself to fill up on).

I hope everyone enjoys the holidays with or without your families.

I walked my dog, for two hours today
Two hours of nature, of walking along the lake
Just breathing in nature

Today I said "to heck with it" and ate whatever I wanted

Tomorrow - I will get back to reality!

There is a song, by John Campbell, with the line
"my heart is hanging heavy for the folks here with no home".

For those of us with a warm place to sleep, and food to eat, take a moment tomorrow to send your gratitudes to the higher power(s)

Well, my brother and mom cancelled today because my brother said he doesn't feel well (chest pains he weighs about 300 lbs) so I have all of this extra food that I want to take over to them tomorrow just to get it out of my house. There is no way I want to waste this food when so many are going hungry. I will try not to overeat but I know my brother doesn't need it either.

Today I ate so much that I feel sick.
We don't celebrate with a big meal, but all I did was eat non-stop instead
Using the "it's the holidays" excuse
Why do I keep doing this?
Shame on me

Hi there. Well, it seems that most of us have survived ''the day'' as I write this on ''boxing day'' ~ Ah yes, the funny English day after Christmas! So like we get two official days holiday! My xmas was the quietest EVER, because the great granddaughter and nanny (my sister) were poorly. They are here the weekend instead. I didn't buy any more food items then I would have otherwise, not really. I got the smallest turkey crown available, only intended for 3/4 people. That was all used up on the day, boxing day was a three bird roast so that was just throw in the oven! Pigs in blankets were ready made as was the stuffing ~ told you, very lazy! I have done some naughty picking at foods but no actual binge in the true sense of the word. Believe me, I KNOW what a real binge feels like, physically and mentally. I'd like to wish you all a very happy healthy new year. Bye bye for now. XXX

Let me share one of my bad habits
I will $3 on a bag of cheesies, get halfway through and think I should not eat this.
But, I justify finishing it by telling myself that throwing it out is a waste of money.

Does anyone do this?

Oh yeah, it's amazing what I'll tell myself, just as long as I can keep eating. That's why I believe that for me, overeating is really an addiction. I can't trust anything my brain says when it comes to food.

I've been doing OK but one night I decided that I just wanted to eat alot. So I ate alot of salad and veggies, but the only thing is that it was hard to stop after I started. I could tell I was in a different type of mode.

At least that type of eating might be happening less often to me. I guess taking care of myself in other ways is helping. Weird how non-food stuff has such an effect on my eating.

I think that I use food for self care
Bad day at work? Pick-up ice cream
Not enough sleep - a few pizzas will help

I need to work on that

I am bipolar, and am having a day where noise overwhelms me, and chocolate makes me feel better

I'm just eating chocolate at work because it's there and I think I deserve a snack for having a low calorie lunch. Wrong kind of snack. I can't wait until all that chocolate leftover from the holidays at work is gone.

Still feel like I'm stuck at home. I keep waking up at around noon and go to bed really late. I really miss my work routine. Who would ever imagine that I would have such a challenge with time off. Just hanging out has the same feel as when I eat, I feel like "darn it, I'm going to do this whether I enjoy it or not, because I won't be able to do this later."
