What is Binge Eating Disorder?
Thank you for this. Because I am just learning to acknowledge and understand the disorder, I didn't know how varied it could be. Here is a quote from the page:

  • Interfere with the ability to regulate food intake
  • Create or increase the "wanting" of a particular food
  • Increase the "liking" of a particular food

From this I learned that I haven't understood Shattered Sanity's situation as well. What I learned is, sometimes with this disorder, we cannot choose anything, but only certain foods will give us the feeling we seek.

Thank you for sharing this link. And please forgive me, Shattered Sanity, for my comment/suggestion last week. My advice of choosing a healthier meal was ignorant of the range of the illness.

It is so good to learn more about how we differ as much as our similarities.

I am feeling so big today. I get my days like this. Feel like getting out the bag of chips. I am a mess today. I drank wine yesterday and my weight went up. I forgot that there are calories in wine. duh! Gotto leave it alone. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

I hope you all have a good evening and night.

hey lucy!

i'm sorry that guy was rude to you- you get that anywhere.. really nice people, and few horrible ones too- sometimes i wonder if the horrible ones don't have anything nice to say, why say anything at all?. it does make me wonder.

i'm too drained to eat anything today... is that how bad my life has ghot?

yes it is. all i've managed to have today is a small glass of soda- getting up and walking to the soda bottle was hard work

Hi y'all. Went grocery shopping today. At least I went to the place with the best prices for food. So I saved some money. I got 2 containers of strawberries. I love them! My dog loves them, too. They help me with my craving for sweets and they are NOT a high calorie food.

Yes, it would be nice if no one was rude on these forums but it happens. I won't be able to see his posts any more because I put him on my ignore list. I'm glad there is such a thing as the ignore list.

Grapes are good, too, but my dog can't have them and I like to share fruit and veggies with her. Sometimes I will get some grapes just for myself, though. I am hooked on strawberries! Never used to buy them until one day they were on sale and I got a bunch and liked them. Now I buy them almost every time I go grocery shopping. I like bananas, too, but they were too expensive and overly ripe at the store this time. They had peaches and I think I may get some next time I go shopping. I like to have a few kinds of fruit around for my sweet tooth.
Thanks for this!

Started the day well. Only a bowl of celery soup. Did yard work for 3 hours. Still fine, no obsessing - then played an interactive online game, and someone killed my character 4 times in a row. They didn't get anything after the first time, they just did it to troll me. Bummed me out, and I overate after that.

this reminds me of my experiences with sausages (well a little)

years ago when i tried sausages, it left me really sick- ill for days, and i couldn't eat them.. i had a phobia of them

anyway years later for breakfast, i had a sausage roll (i can't quite remember why, think it was because i forgot to buy bread for toast), and i wasn't ill- and my first thought was, this is grate i've not been ill yet- and that started my love for sausages.. i just ate and more and more each day, now i love them

I don't see how that gave you the memory of being sick on sausages but oh well, we all are different. I got some protein bars and they are so good. They are mixed berry flavor. They are NOT high in calories either. So far today I did okay with my eating but the night is coming and that is the hardest part of the day for me. I don't really have any binge food around. Going to try and drink enough water. Water can make me feel fuller.

Awoke after 3 hrs of sleep very manic. Rushed about like a fool for 4 hours getting multitude of things done and making plans. My husband went along for the ride, assisting, but also trying to bring me down. He did stop me from going on an adventure into town thank goodness. We made definitive plans to go next Tuesday. I took my meds, and a prn and conked out. I awoke and ate too much, then fell alseep again. Now at 8:30 pm I am groggy, but awake.

Here comes the night. Not particularly feeling hungry now. Shared my dinner with my dog since the dog food wasn't delivered today. She is out of food. I suspect that the package is at the manager's office because sometimes they deliver it there. I hope I get it tomorrow but if not my dog can have some more of my dinner with me.

Weighed myself this morning even though I was afraid to. My weight has not gone up or down since I lost some. I mean today it has not gone up or down but it had gone up on other days. I don't know if I am making sense. I wonder how many of us with eating disorders have a hard time losing weight. I have to eat very little to lose weight. Well maybe I should go back to counting calories and start exercising. Haven't exercised in a long time. I have a sore hip. Don't know what is wrong with it.

Having my coffee right now. I think I may have some eggs and share them with Suzy dog. She likes eggs, too. I really liked those berry protein bars. I want to get some more. They are low in calories.

I hope everyone has a good day!
Thanks for this!

Let's just say none of my good food intentions panned out at all!
It was a crap week at work/school and my bday weekend, total bonkers gorge festival and I feel fatter and sicker than ever, I ate it all and did not enjoy a bite. I know I'm over it, I'm just feeling so fat and tired.
Tomorrow is the cliche Monday new diet day. I'm just gonna aim for no major sugar blow outs.

Good vibes to you all!

I forgot that I wanted chocolate cake. I had to order from a local restaurant because they're the only place that delivers, and will help me deal with the trash and my mail. So, my main activity was getting all that done, via my wonderful local restaurant, with incredible gratitude from me. (They get tipped a huge amount, which assuages some of my desperation, for the next time.)

And I ordered on a Sunday afternoon because it's slower then, but I didn't notice it was raining. Oh well. I procrastinate calling for the leastimpactful day and time, only to discover I didn't notice it's actually raining out and etc etc etc. O_o

I've just spent my morning bulk cooking healthy meals like curries, soups and a stew. All packed with lots of veggies. It's winter here so now the dinners for the week are sorted, I've just got to focus on portion control and not snacking/eating junk. I'm tired too! I felt sick with reflux and self loathing last night I got little sleep. I'm trying to focus on positive thoughts and meditate on better health

I've been up all night. I hope everyone has a good day. I keep drinking wine and that has calories that are keeping my weight from going down!! Boy am I stupid.

I want to start posting here each day. Today I was pretty good itch food. Almost had a carrot cake mishap. But managed to avert it. Need to stay on plan for 2 more days. Then I will have a cheat day. Wish the cravings were not so difficult to manage
