What a great site. Frightening to read all these posts as it's all too familiar and sad to realize that so many people out there live in the same hell that I have lived in my whole life.

Anyways, without going into my entire situation, I just finally found a diagnosis (other than the other issues I have...severe depression, PTSD, anxiety / panic.) I have a very serious case of BPD. I have been trying to find inpatient therapy, and am running into the problem of finding only one...in Indianapolis, and you can't just "check in." You have to go through all kinds of red tape, multiple referrals, them accepting you, yadda, yadda. I have attempted suicide many times, just got out of the hospital about 2 weeks ago, and am in dire need of getting information about ANY inpatient place to go for intensive treatment. Does anyone have any info on this? Thank you for reading, and hope everyone on here is doing well. This site is great, and sure I will be out here a lot.

first of all...

kudos to you for being brave enough to ask for help.

I am from canada and I dont really have a whole lot of options for resources but I just want to tell you that you are SO not alone.

All of us here understand the red tape, the frustration, and the mental symptoms that we all struggle with..

Please try and remember that if you are in immediate danger, go to somewheres where you can be safe, even if it means going to the hospital knowing they may discharge you.

Do you have a Therapist currently?

Do you have any support people in your life that you can have help you out in this difficult time?

I send love, if its safe for you to take it.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. It is really shocking to discover that so many people have this and that the personality traits are the same. I really feel like I have only met one other person who has this, and it felt like meeting myself. Until finding this website, that is. Thanks again.

Please, if anyone knows of any inpatient treatment, please pm me or post here.

Sky I clicked on that site then my state and found out its not very up to date. But its a good starting point.

I too have BPD and am getting better so please know its not a life sentence and through a lot of hard work you can learn to live with it.

Thanks for the hug and thanks for the website. I couldn't find anything specific on there for inpatient, but thanks. I have heard there are 3 inpatient facilities in the US (one is in Indy) I'm trying to find the other two. I've contacted everyone...maybe there aren't any others.

Has anyone on here tried DBT? If so, was it successful? I really need treatment info...what are people on here doing? Thanks.
