I had a dental emergency and needed to see a different dentist than I normally use. This dentist was OK but triggered me into a really bad state -- I am not sure if it was something personally in me or something he really did wrong?
I felt he was too rough -- the office is fully aware of my fear/wariness towards dentists and my PTSD diagnosis ---- the dentist I usually use at the office I have never really had a triggering response -- after the appointmet for a few day I might seem depressed or anxious a little but this dentist made me feel severe anxiety to the point of no sleep for two nights
I called the office and told them I really could not go back for the 2nd follow up visit to that dentist and really had to see the regualr dentist -- was i wrong for inssisting that or should I face up to my fears of what ever made me trigger with this other dentist

Oh I think you did all the right things!

You suffered through this insensitive dentist when it was emergency, and you called to book in with the one you trust for the follow up! difficulty returning to the dentist

That's good self care and you should be proud of yourself for it!
