I would be interested in reading some of the best books about how to psychologically handle and continue with permanent injury --- such as major spinal cord injury and other multiple injuries. I would like to read interviews of people who are disabled and things of that nature to find out what makes them continue on in life.

Since some messageboards and sites don’t allow you to recommend a particular book, feel free to email me privately with book and website recomemndations.

Welcome Sean... we can recommend books and sites we wish to share here on this site. I'm too depressed to give you ideas right now. I am permanent total myself.. and getting even more resistance from my primary doctor, and the insurance co... so I need to find this out too. You know? If you can, repost Sunday night so I can remember to ask my pain management psychologist Monday when I see him, ok? I'll try. (OR PM me Sunday night so I can make note.. I'd lose the note if I made it now. sigh.)

Hello Sean,

I guess I really do not know of any books on this. I am confused if you are referring as disibility as strictly being that of intrest in a physical nature. I just wondered. As I am physicaly disabled now only at the time of my application was and am recieving benifits for a pshychiatric condition.

So I am classified with the United States Govrnment as being diabled without having physical disability at that time 11 years ago. So my Physical disabity is not even recognized by the United States Government that would require me to reapply. Once was enough for me.

Good luck on your journey.
