My therapists must have had a conference and tried to come up with the most difficult homework possiable They asked me to write what I think my good qualities characteristics are. Im not cheating I just wanted to know what you guys think are good qualities characteristics of yourself. How about people with PTSD in general. I wont copy. I just wanted to see what you guys say and if I can relate. Its a hard one.
I will start. I think my quality is humor. I also think people with PTSD are more empathetic to others.

I would deffinitely have to agree with the empathy piece. I also think that people with PTSD are more sensitive to others in general. I think we kind of know how to read people, because often times we had to read others behaviors. I guess for myself I consider myself creative and intelligent, yet also kind and compassionate, all these things combined kind of helps me see what I want to do for a career in my life, that's why I am going into elementary education. Well these are my thoughts. good luck on your list.

Hmm not sure why you are thinking that "those people" who have ptsd have different qualities than people who aren't suffering from that disorder. Postive qualities in people with ptsd

Why not approach it as good qualities that people can have? There are lists and lists around that you can read. Then check off those qualities that you have.

I don't think that your Ts are wanting emotional/psychological/social qualities only...but actual physical abilities (such as a hobby you work at) will do too? Postive qualities in people with ptsd

highly developed creative/problem solving skills - because ya gots to get creative/problem solving to avoid triggers... manage triggers..so perhaps.. PTSD... learning how.. to manage...

more senistivity - I see this as a positive... because I "sense" danger faster... due to my PTSD... so am able to perhaps stay safer...perhaps.. a heightened awarness.. is what I mean..

thinking ahead... try to look before I "leap"... due to PTSD... I think... cause... no.. I do not want to experience a "flashback"... and again I choose to see this as a "positive"...

Empathic... for me... I think I am a more empathic person than I would have been... if not for my PTSD... because... there is something for the experience of "walking in someone else's shoes"..

A look.. at the past... learning more about myself.. about who I was.. about what happened.. in my childhood...and understanding that
PTSD... allows me to do this... and I understand.. that other people would not see that perhaps as a positive... but for me.. as a DID person - the flashbacks... sometimes.. allows me a "peek" at my past world.. so that I can help change... a give healing to alters...

peace...
