I don't believe in coincidences...and I recently revisited using epsom salt in my bath water... so that's what I'll try. Are mag levels in standard workups? I could check my last labs and see where I'm at with that...
I'm of course hesitant to try melatonin on my "own" which is one reason why I hadn't tried it.. .another was the rumor of nightmares..which I do have med probs with... the low dosing... have to make a note to double check that. TKS

I just needed to find the right thing to say to you, I guess.
There is no standard workup for magnesium. It's constantly changing. It's changing every second. The truest test for magnesium deficiency is called magnesium loading. In other words, they give you a big old dose of magnesium, and if your magnesium-related symptoms remit, well by dang, it was the magnesium. Truly. I prefer a gentler process, gradually increasing the oral dose. Over time, the gut accomodates to the increased magnesium flux, and uptake is more assured. We can talk about that some more, if you'd like. The melatonin can be obtained as a sublingual liquid, as well. You can really get the dose titrated with that, because each drop will have a precise amount of melatonin in it. Seriously, laboratory chemists use droppers to measure small amounts of dissolved substances. I'm such a chemist. Lar |
