Hi. Any experiences with topamax? My T just suggested it. My Dx:PTSD with borderline features. Everything but splitting. In a way I want to try something becasue Ive been very mood swingy and indecisive. I have to figure out what Im doing with my life/career and Im being a putz. Not getting anything accomplished but worrying. Im already taking Xanax. Any ideas? Thanks!

I know of several folks who've done well on Topamax, though I didn't. In my case, my doc added it to augment the other antidepressant I was on, and also because I had gained too much weight from the other, and topamax can help with that. In my case, it just made me more depressed. I was only on it for eight weeks.
I can think of one person, though, who had a great response to it. Her emotions were much more even, and she felt much more able to handle what was going on in her life. Good luck! gg

Anyone taken topamax for Panic? my best friend takes it for epilepsy but i kno wit works on other things and she is med sensitive also and has mentioned that i really shoul dgive it a shot, any suggestions?

it works for a numerous amount of things as far as i understand... things that are from the same parts of the brain...

I take Topamax, been taking it for a about 13 months. I love it. It has really helped stabalize my moods. This is the best I have felt in years. It also worked wonders for me in the wight loss department.

Hi, I haven't tried Topomax myself yet, but have heard from many that they have gotten very good results from it.
Please know though that you need to get your eyes ck'ed regularly while you are on this medication, I know of some that had to quit taking it because of that problem. Laverene |

i take topamax for my migraines. it helps prevent my migraines. i don't know what affects it has for mental health though. best of luck
