Ugh, this sucks.

I had a root canal late yesterday afternoon and something must have gone wrong. I came home and was in the most pain I've been in since giving birth - ON my painkillers. And my face started to swell and it's swollen to at LEAST 3 times it's normal size (on one side). Maybe more. It is seriously HUGE.

I am supposed to see T at 9 today and I had to cancel. I have to go back to the dentist to find out what is wrong...and I couldn't go see T like this anyhow.

Boo Now I don't get to see him until Tuesday, which will be an 8 day break...long for me.

Oh no!! I hope everything is ok with your root canal and that you get some relief soon! Can you perhaps schedule something sooner than 8 days with your T?

It's awful when dental procedures cause problems. I'm so sorry you can't see T today. I hope that the dentist is able to treat the problem and you are pain free soon.

So, dentist said that I have an infection in my bone and put me on some scary high-power antibiotic. He had to drill the tooth again to clean it out and he left it open and just packed with cotton. I cried AT THE DENTIST So embarrassing.

As of right now, my face is still HUGELY SWOLLEN. I so so so so hope that the swelling starts to go down soon. I'm trying not to think about it too much because it makes me really anxious...

T and I have e-mailed a couple of times. He is going to call me at 5:15 so we can talk for a few minutes That makes me feel better.

I feel scared. But I'm trying to take the advice I gave to MUE this morning and stay in the thinnest sliver of now. My friend brought me two kinds of homemade soup (I can't eat food I have to chew for A WEEK) and I am on the couch with pillows and a blanket doing school with the boys. It's snowing. That's NOW.

I'm sorry you're hurting, Tree. I've been there, and root canal infection pain is, like, beyond the worst. It's excruciating. You should be feeling better soon, though, thanks to the meds. Hang in there, moment by moment.

((((Tree))))) You are doing all the right things- staying in the thinnest sliver of now, taking your antibiotics, doing school with the boys and putting one foot in front of another and getting through the day. With a swollen face and an infected bone, you are doing MORE than can be expected of anyone. I think Id sit down on the couch and cry and feel sorry for myself! You are truly inspirational and strong.

Did the dentist say how long it might take for the selling to go down? Or for the tooth to be filled again?

Lots of hugs and soups

(((tree))),

My mouth hurts thinking about you! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hate root canals too!! Yuk, yuk. It's awful when you have a fairly simple procedure and then have complications. Scary.

I hope the antiobiotics work soon and you are back to feeling and looking like yourself soon!!! I hope the talk with your T helped you, too.

Wishing you a quick recovery and healing! I hope you feel better soon. I think the antibiotics will get to work and in a day or two you will feel like yourself again. It's so hard when we don't feel like ourselves.

I woke up today and my face is SO SO SO swollen still. I don't even kind of look like me. It's scaring me and making me sad

T called me yesterday and wanted to know everything about what's going on. It felt good to talk to him. I definitely felt cared for, and cared about. He is leaving town this morning and won't be back until Sunday night. It makes him feel kind of far away.

I feel scared and sad!!!! I wish the swelling had gone down just a little bit this morning.

I'm so sorry that your swelling didn't go down. I'm also sorry that T is going out of town. Could he leave you a message to listen to, or do you have any on your phone already? Can you get your family to wait on you hand and foot this weekend since your sick?

Lots of hugs!

i know when i've had bad allergic reactions and something on my face has swollen up it's usually a lot worse in the AM as i may have slept on that side inadvertently. tree, i had my lips swell up so huge i looked like some bad collagen injection gone horribly wrong and my eyes & ears too. i have one food allergy but it's a biggie when it happens! it took almost a week before my lips went back down to normal. if you're really worried putting a call into the dentist for more info might help calm your fears.

omg! Did you see the dentist? I didn't read all the posts. I hope they give you something for it and you will be ok! Here- let's hold hands again; my t is out, your t is out. pain is a comon factor - we'll help each other thru - that's what brain twins do for each other.

(((tree))) I hope one more day on the antibiotics will make a difference. Sometimes it takes a couple of days. It must feel odd and scary though

((((Tree)))) I was thinking about you all day today. I am so sorry the swelling isnt better today. I agree that sometimes it takes a day or two and then you will see results.

How are you doing now? Are you able to eat some soup or drink tea and/or do something soothing for Tree? Be extra gentle with Tree, she deserves some kind, loving care
