Hi everyone,
I know lots of people on here have a set day and time for their appointments and I was curious...is there a best day of the week for therapy for you? And why do you think that? Or is there a day you'd really like and can't have? Thanks for reading... |

I much prefer late afternoon sessions so I don't have to go back to work. I'm often in a very emotional state afterwards, and my head is always spinning with thoughts, so I can't concentrate very well.
As far as the day, I like Friday so I have the weekend to "recover", but I worry that my T is tired and worn out by the end of the week. (He gives a lot during sessions - don't know where he finds the energy.) Worst is early morning appts - blecchh. No matter when I get out of bed, I'm not really awake before 10 am. ![]() |

I see my T twice a week - Monday and Thursday - which is perfectly spaced for me as I never have to go more than four days between appointments. If I had to pick only one day, I'd say Monday would be best for me, as I usually struggle more on the weekend when I'm less busy.
I prefer later appointments, too. Not too late, but dinner-time seems to work well - I'm alert enough for my appointment and it isn't too late when I get home so that I have time to decompress and journal before winding the evening down.

I used to go Monday and Thursday and I really liked it. Then I went just on Thursday for a while, and that was a good day. I usually see him on Friday now.
I like Thursday the best, because there is still one day before the weekend, in case anything is left over and I need to contact T for whatever reason (it doesn't come up much, but it feels reassuring to me to know I *could*). And there's only three weekdays between the weekend and my T appointment, so it doesn't feel that far away after the weekend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I like to go on fridays after work. Our sessions are about four hours long and since i dont have to be at work on saturdays i can stay up late.
With t out of the country tho, i would be happy with anything at all |

Since my T is off Saturday, Sunday and Monday and she is in another office on Tuesday, I prefer and I have Wednesday appointments.
I like that I can schedule an extra appointment for the week if things are too intense on Wednesday and she's always been able to fit me in on a Thurs or Friday. When I had Friday appointments I would have to wait 5 or 6 days to get in for an impromptu appointment and that was agony. Also, for me, the 7 day wait seems less from Wednesday to Wednesday than from Friday to Friday. Who can figure? Some kind of psychological construct in my brain. |

Hey hun,
my day has moved around quite a lot. I find that I usually just get used to the new day. I do prefer late mornings usually because I find it hard waiting for the time to come around and I always wake up early on therapy days anywayz. ![]() |

I'm not terribly particular about what day of the week. My appointments are usually his last of the day because I can't get there until school is out. Whatever day fits into my schedule is what I go with.

My T day is Tuesday evening. I am the last appointment of the day which I really like due to the fact I do not see any other clients. Also my sessions have gone over (up to 30 mins), T never seems to be in rush to end it at 50 mins which it would have to be if there were other people waiting.

Tuesday from 8-9 and Friday 830-1030 are my appt days/times. I do not work on Fridays, so those are the deeper sessions where we get down to the dirty work. Tuesday is a nice touch base session to talk about what's going on at work and professionally for me. My inner kiddos usually go on Fridays. It's a great schedule.
With it being October, I wish I could go every single day... Though I don't think my own clients would appreciate that on weekday mornings for me to cancel them for the entire month. ![]() |

I'd really prefer it if it were possible to go on a Saturday morning. Then I could come home, head straight for bed and just not deal with anything (preferably for the entire weekend).
But since that's not optional, I have to go during the week. Any day works really, since the next 2 days post session usually suck, due to my struggling a lot emotionally after being "gutted". It always seems to take me that long just to regain an semblance of normality. Usually my sessions fall at the beginning of the week. |

My T works M-Th, and when I had regular, weekly sessions, I used to like any day but Monday. Something about having a Monday appointment, and then having the whole week to get through until the next appointment was hard for me. It seemed like the week was longer that way. So my ideal was Tu, W, or Th at the end of the work day. That way I didn't have to go back to work. But since we went off the regular schedule, I am pretty much OK with any day or time we both have free so at least I can see him! He can get pretty busy and me too, so finding a free time that we overlap can be a challenge.

I'm not working at the moment, so it doesn't really matter. I usually go on Wednesdays, which works fine, and late in the afternoon. I don't think I could 'do' morning appointments, I wouldn't be thinking straight, and I'd be full of anxiety like I am when I know I have to get up for something and rush to be there.

T sees clients Tue - Fri. My appointment is Tuesday late afternoons. I like it because I feel T is still fresh in her week. It does also allow for a second appointment later in the week if I need it and she can work it in.

I like the middle of the week a lot. The thing is I always look forward to sessions a lot and want them to hurry up and come so it makes sense not to have it on Monday, JMO. Because then all you really have to look forward to is a long work week.
Re: sessions at the end of the day.... I used to worry very much about planning therapy and then going out to be with people afterwards-- like somehow it would rub off on the general mood, or I would be a downer to them. But it doesn't seem to make much of a difference! ![]() |

I usually have Mondays...and I'm not sure I like it all that much-it feels like such a long time in between-but I do like having it after the weekends when things can get bad for me (no structure) and I see him after he has worked his other job (I don't really like that either-but what can ya do)...I wish I had Wednesdays!!!
