Thanks Lola! Today is my husband's birthday, the anniversary of my dad's death, marriage counseling, and I have a doctor's appointing in about 15 minutes to discuss anxiety medication. Perhaps, PERHAPS scheduling other stressful stuff today was not the best decision I have ever made.

Sila, good job on the email, by the way.
Sconnie, did you get there safe?
Chopin, YEA! for the cleaners. Good job to you for getting everything ready.
Apt, good luck on your trip rescheduling and the evals. I bet that is really stressful.
Jersey, hope you feel better soon!

Lola, thanks again. The doctor's visit went okay. He was pretty nice. Said what I was describing was something that he thinks is pretty normal for most attorney-types.

My house is getting SO clean. When I walked into my bathroom, I thought I was going to cry. The kitchen is clean too. This company only uses eco-friendly cleaners. The house is starting to smell good again. Our house is full. We're still here, a friend came over, they sent 3 cleaners, then there's our 3 dogs.

Okay, so in addition to this being the one year anniversary of my dad's death, my daughter was told at school this year that she is NOT being invited to join the National Honor Society. Despite the fact that she has done at least four or fives times as much community service type things as my son did (working for charities, knitting and donating hats and blankets to Newborns In Need, etc), despite having great grades and incredible test scores, she was told that she did not do enough community service and is too quiet in class. I am just enraged on her behalf. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know for a FACT that she has done more community service than her brother who DID get in, and also know for a FACT that she participates in class more than her brother's girlfriend, who ALSO got in with less community service than my daughter. They are still punishing her for missing most of last semester because she was so ill. It's like they think she was malingering despite all the doctor notes.

Oh, also, the history teacher who had said that he should not have to go to the work of helping her catch up or stay after school so she could take tests because she was just going to get a B anyway, did in fact give her a B last semester, surprise, surprise. I asked for copies of all of the tests, and they did not give us a copy of the final, and two of the tests they did give us that were supposedly B's, the teacher made math errors and they were actually A's. But, they still claim she got a B in the class. Thinking I should just pull her out and put her back in private school.

Is there no one you can protest to? Plead your case?

I sent an email to the vice-principal who was trying to help her before, about both situations. Not sure it will do any good. I said basically what I said here, and that I was upset by how unsupportive the rest of the school administration has been. I didn't say the part about considering moving her to a private school. Felt like too much of a threat.

MKAC, you are an attorney. Certainly they can't withhold the tests that they didn't give you? Somewhere there has to be a law stating that?

Vice Principals are overpaid babysitters.... in my experience....try the Principal with a cc: to the Superintendent that should get the ball rolling...
