What a freaking nightmare at the clinic. I got the same nurse I always have which was nice. I like her. She knows about my white coat hypertension. Then in walks someone I've never seen before. It's the STUDENT nurse practitioner! WTF! She was nice, but she is a student. She did the whole freaking exam most of it without the actual NP in the room. The NP just came in for the end of the exam for less than 5 minutes. Needless to say, this student needs some more practice on certain parts of the exam. It hurt and I've never had it hurt and I complained rather loudly. She had to try three times!!!! They also want an ultrasound of some thick tissue. I told them I probably can't afford that because I have S***ty insurance and no extra money right now. It must not have been too concerning as they didn't push the ultrasound stuff...just told me to keep an eye on it and call to find out what insurance would cover.

It was horrible and I almost left in tears. It wasn't until I was talking to the women at work and one of them asked "Did they ask if it was okay to have a student do the exam?" that I realized I had never even been asked! I was so nervous it never occured to me to ask. I figured the student would do basics and then the NP would do the exam. I completely forgot I had the right to ask for the actual NP. I paid to see an NP and I got a student. Now I am questioning the quality of my exam. I was really hoping that this would be a good visit after the whole doctor leaving fiasco, but it was not. I am sad, and scared, and confused. I don't have t until Thursday.... I am a mess today. I want to go home and cry.

I guess I should probably think about finding a new clinic and doctor. I've never had to do that really. I switched doctors within the clinic but that was 10 year ago. I don't even know how to go about it. The little blurbs on the websites are useless really. I'd like to actually talk to the person before I decide, but I guess that would require an office visit.

I like to add them to bran muffins, but I did not know about making them into a gel first. Thanks StopDog!

The gel just makes them a bit less crunch and they won't absorb the other liquid from the recipe (in my experience) also I can then use less oil.
Thanks for this!

Pet hair is always the problem with vacuums for me. I get globs stuck in the hose and I also have to clean the filter a lot. When I had the stand up kind - fur was always getting stuck on the bottom and I would have to flip it over and pull it out.
Thanks for this!

Yep, pet hair and carpet fuzz and human hair etc all get tangled up down there. The little rolling part where the bristles are, it gets wrapped around there a lot and then stops sucking up as easily. Take a sharp knife to the wad of hair and pull it out. Also if you have an old one, check to see the belt is still intact. They break easy and smell funny and make the vacuum not work so well.

I'm exhausted and in between passing out and losing my mind. lol. I need to stop depriving myself of sleep.

I can relate.

Sconnie...I'm sorry your appointment was a nightmare. I would not want to be treated by a student, period. I had a problem at my last MD appt because both of the nurses were sick. My doctor's wife, who is the office manager did my vitals (not that it's difficult to do...I could do them) then asked what I wanted to talk about with the doctor . I do not like the woman to begin with. Then she started telling me how young I looked, but that my husband (who had fallen asleep in the chair across from me) wasn't looking so young anymore (I'm 35 and he's 44). The next statement was the winner, "My husband doesn't look so young anymore either. Sometimes people mistake me for Dr. G's daughter." It's the other way around. He's in his early 50's and she's in her late 40's, but he looks a decade younger than her. Needless to say, her lack of tact is the reason why I didn't want to talk to her. I wanted to do this: Welcome to couch number 23!

It wouldn't have made any difference which day they would have fallen on, I think. I assume both my Tue and Thu appointments would have been cancelled for 2-3 weeks regardless. Maybe I should ask when T will go on holiday and when he'll come back. (Or would it be weird of me to ask him that already?)

I plan to set up appointments on different days for the week of Christmas and New Years. I plan to do that tomorrow when I go-to be ahead of the game.

If you have standing appt on Tue and Thurs then I don't think its too soon to ask about holidays... You want to be able to make your own plans.

wow this would not make me happy.if at all maybe find a new clinic and go in and talk with the director and explain what your situation is .that you have issues with touching and anxiety and ask if there is someone who they would recommend who is best fitted to deal with these issues .this is what i did with my hubby and it was so hard and all but i ended out with the best NP ever.if you can give this a try

Oh no, sconnie! I'm so sorry that you had such a bad experience!! Especially since you were anxious about it to begin with. NOT cool at all. (( HUGS ))

I decided to leave work early today....there was absolutely nothing for me to do....talked to my boss about the situation to see if there were any other areas that I could contribute, and he didn't know of any. *sigh*....so the light at the end of the tunnel is really going to be a trainwreck.

Anyhoo....I decided to come home so I have a couple hours to work on my act before my daughter gets home and I then head to class....

My throat is feeling worse....which is NOT good news because we are rehearsing tonight for the show on Friday....and, of course, my voice is the most important aspect. I wonder what I can do to help it along....My voice is scratchy and low....my throat hurts on one side..and my chest is tight.

I really hope it goes away soon...I've been sucking on vitamin c drops today....maybe I should pick up some zinc?

Pet hair was the culprit for sure... And..for fun, H got the air compresser out and is going to unclog it that way. I think he was just waiting for an excuse to get it ou.

My H loves his air compressor also. Loves to use it in the house. Makes my ears hurt.
