you sound like my NP telling me what i am heading for if i keep on the path of destruction i am on . she said some may die quickly or go into a coma but most will live miserably as there body shuts down and that mixed with my SI the risk of infection and healing is huge .and talked about loosing limbs and junk like that.i think she was trying to scare me . she said also she cant make me take my meds and will not judge me if i choose not to and will treat me in any case but that i cant judje her for wanting to tell me the facts. but i still think she was trying to scare me into taking meds and not SIing

Granite, there's truth to what she says. Diabetics heal a lot more difficultly healing than non, and are at risk for gangrene infections etc a lot more. Especially in the limbs. Less blood flow and all that. I could go into real depth detail about why, but I don't think anyone would appreciate that so I'll cut it short. Still, if your sugars are at 300-600 you really gotta be careful. That's super high, even for fasting.

Unrelated note, I think the bf made up for pissing me off last night. He woke up, got me my meds, AND made breakfast this morning. Score! lol

I hope you take care of yourself Granite. Those are scary numbers. Was your vision affected?

So blahh today. I have this cold that just won't go away! It's been over a week and I am still suffering. Ugh. Oh well. At work and that is so so depressing. Can't wait to go home and hide from the world again.... which is not a good choice either I suppose.

The reason I asked was that my mom found out that she was diabetic because her eyesight suddenly got so horrible. Once she got her sugar straightened out her eyesight went back to normal.

WAKE UP, LOLA!

Granite, I'm glad your appointment went well. It sounds like you have an awesome physician. If everything she talked about feels overwhelming and impossible, maybe you can take one of the things and just work on that, while not making anything else worse?

I would very much like to have a nanny. And naps. Naps are good. Too bad I didn't know that when I was 5.

I feel stuck in therapy right now. We seem to be talking about the same things over and over. Intellectually, I know everything he's telling me is right, but I have trouble getting the child inside to agree. T doesn't seem to mind repeating himself ad nauseum, but I'm tired of it.

Every time I see QP I read it first as QC (Queen's Counsel) - too much Rumpole of the Bailey.
